My forge seems to work now. I have not tried welding any thing in it yet but it looks like it will work. The new burners get hotter at 10 psi than the old ones did at 20 and the new one use a .021" jet as opposed to a .032" jet. I am thrilled with the increased efficiency. Thanks to all those who helped me work out this problem.

NICE! Where are the burners from? Did you make them?

Yes I made the burners. You can see more pics in my post titled cant get welding heat. I cant wait to really use it. I have only turned it on and let it get to heat to see if it would work.

Those new burners look great. I discovered something that I thought may have contributed to your previous problem. I built a new burner last week, and when I was going through my fittings I spotted my old fitting and a brand new one that attach to the propane tank. They both had a built in restriction, a .020 or so orifice. The fitting I now use has a through hole about 5/16" dia.. I believe if a person was using a fitting with the tiny hole but a larger orifice on the burner you could have all kinds of trouble leading to a real finicky burner. I think the ones with a small hole are for Bbqs, the one I have with the larger hole came with my regulator.
It's something to look at, and keep in mind.
Again, good job on those burners!

Thanks for the heads up. I dont think that was my problem. I am using a high pressure regulator off of an argon tank. I think that my burners were just poorly designed.

Congrats on getting your project finished!
