I cut out a copper disk for another project and it was too small so it gets recycled to something useful. Then some steel gets bent and drilled for some brass pins to hold it all together.

The disk chucked up in a die grinder for some file shaping. Guess i better clean my variac now.

All polished.

Cut the guard out and also a copper fitting that will get pinned to the guard later after I finish shaping stuff.

Guard shaped, drilled and tang thinned out and bent. Now ready to start making the Handle. Nope... it wont be chirruwa. I still need to make the but plate and keeper. Hmmm? Wood or horn? Oh and yes it will have a cho.

Awesome! There is something so beautiful about raw copper. I love the green look too, but fresh copper has the most beautiful color and sheen.

Use one of the antlers from the deer your Dogo Argentina killed then devoured. I thought I saw it beside him in a photo. You will have a nice story to go along with the pizza cutter.

Antler would be cool. Im also thinking a short piece of bull horn like whats on the Yuvray fish knife. My wife liked that idea. I was hiding it from her but she found it in the shop yesterday while washing clothes...busted! I gave that stag to Karda a while back for Khuk blem repairs etc. My Dogo did drag up something again day before yesterday. He stayed outside all night munching out and brought a big piece of white fur up to the house. I hadnt had time to investigate. Might be another rabbit? Doubt it had antlers unless it was a Jackelope:D

Great work, thank you for sharing

I didnt like the look of the rounded pipe cap so i decided to make a bolster form (bottom right). Above ther is the resulting piece. Worked out great. I feel like regular solder may not be strong enough and at some time in this things life the guard may break loose from the bolster so I decided to braise it. Braising is much stronger than solder but you need to get much higher temps for it to wet properly and you need borax to keep it from oxidizing so thats the plan.

Mission accomplished! One solid unit. Once it gets polished out it should look more like one solid fluid piece rather than a bunch o pipes soldered together.

Here's a fit check. Once again Im thinking of Zebra wood since I dont have any other wood to use other than pine. I was thinking bull horn but id have to spend some money and wait for it so heck with that. What do Gurkhas like on their pizzas? I love anchovies myself!

I'm real curious how the heck your gonna put a tang handle on that puppy with the handle bent like that.

That's gonna be tricky me thinks.

Classy! I agree with Bawanna, I can't wait to see how you do the handle. But it sure is coming together to look really awesome so I certainly won't bet against you figuring out something cool to do with it. And I just have to say "HOLD THE ANCHOVIES" on my pie please. Italian sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, green and red peppers with mozzerella and provalone on my home made pizzas.

Kinda like this but ill hammer it on a little harder when time comes. I did straighten it out a little bit cause I didnt want to waste a bunch of thirty year old zebra wood. Might not be a Hanshee pizza cutter but it will still have some bend to it.

It's a pain, but not all that hard. You have to drill from both sides while keeping things centered and the hole has to be made large enough to let the curve thru. Then it's just a matter of keeping things centered when you glue up.

Yep Exactly! I used a hole saw on one side to match the bolster diameter (plus a bit to allow for screw ups) and then drilled the other side to to meet the other hole.

Looks kinda like this. Next ill just carve out the outside stuff away leaving rings and such.

Probably a chopper unless them chovies are still alive. Has more of an AK edge anyway. Needs a couple of chirras dont it? Its probably close to a pound with all the copper. Ill weight it when I get closer to finished.

Got a lil more done today. I got the wood cutout to fit inside the bolster.

Keep in mind this is a pizza cutter so no need to make it football shaped so im just stickin with round at the bolster and will carve it to normal ellipsoid khukri shape on the other end. I also brazed the two pieces of the beam together to make one solid piece.
