iTrader will not recognize thread URL?

A member here is telling me that he tried to leave me feedback on a transaction in iTrader, but it will not recognize the URL for the For Sale thread.

Do you have any ideas why this would happen?

I told him to post in the thread and see if that allowed it to recognize it, but I am not sure if that is what is causing it. I was able to leave feedback for him using that URL-no problem.

Good question, make sure he posts, I'll take or something of that sort in the sale thread, not that the wording matters, but he may have to actually post in the sale thread to leave feedback. If it is multiple sales, forget about it, the system only allows one feedback per thread for both first posting parties, all subsequent sales can not give or get feedback.

I am not saying that what you are stating is wrong, but I have been able to leave feedback already for more than one person who bought knives in the thread from me.

I am just wondering why I was able to do it, but someone who bought something has not been able to do it and nobody that bought a knife has left one yet.

If you are only able to get one feedback per thread, then doesn't that defeat the idea of posting multiple knives in the same thread to save on bandwidth. If this is the case, then wouldn't that be an incentive for people to post one knife in each thread for multiple threads?

They suspended the requirement of making you consolidate sale threads, now one knife, one thread is the rule. IF you want I-trader feedback.

PS: Just tried to leave feedback for a buyer in one of my multiple sale threads and am getting invalid URL deal thread.

Just doesn't make any sense to me!

It was explained to me by Spark, allowing multiple feedbacks in I-Trader could easily be misused and abused. So the system now only allows one buyer and the seller to leave feedback in I-Trader, the buyer must be the one you left feedback for, and is the only one that can leave you feedback. If you have been able to leave feedback for more than one buyer in a multiple sale thread that is confusing to me also. I have over 50 sales in one thread alone and was only allowed to leave feedback for the first buyer. Several buyers reported in thread that they tried to leave me feedback but could not, getting same error message: "Invalid URL deal thread"

Like I said, I am not saying that you are wrong.

I am just wondering why I was able to leave feedback for 3 people in the same thread already.

I looked at the stickies, the rules, the FAQ, and I do not see anything regarding this issue. I also don't see any note about posting in separate threads.

Maybe, Spark could put up a sticky about posting for sale items separately and something regarding the iTrader only being able to be used one time in a thread?

This way other people and I would not waste our time and Spark's on this issue.

MikeG and Spark had a sticky up for several weeks on this topic, announcing multiple sale thread rules were suspended. I tried to find it and post it, but the sticky is gone now.
Ask MikeG or Spark about it. Just trying to help, Good Luck.

I do appreciate your help, James.

Please do not misunderstand my trepidation in my responses. I guess I am just typing my thoughts out. It is not being directed at you. I am just frustrated by this thing.

I know that I am solid in my dealings here and everywhere else. I would just like this iTrader thing to work. Making us post separately to make it work just doesn't make any sense to me. But, what do I know?

No offense taken, I really do not understand it either, especially if you left feedbacks for 3 on the same thread, because I have not been able to. I have been giving away for nearly the cost of shipping to any knife maker Margarita G-10, keep finding the stuff and keep posting sizes. And keep selling it. Thread has about 182 posts now, many are mine in updating lists of what is available, but the knife makers could use the feedback also. That is why I had requested the option of letting multiple sales have more than one feedback, but Spark did explain to me and I understand, it could get out of hand with folks using threads to get and give feedback when they had no part of any deals. I understand, but wish it was different.

Evidently, it is working now. I don't know if it was user error or a fluke.

But, I was able to leave 6 feedbacks on the knives that I sold in one thread and 2 members were able to leave feedback on the same thread. :D
