My favorite MOP lobster from AJ Jordan's big store in St. Louis, made in his own Sheffield knife works. In its neat case, it slips into my vest pocket easily. I have no way of knowing that Jordan (like so many other businesses) will go under in 1929, or that my grandkids will drop the knife while playing with it years later.

On my way to the 5-8 Club for a Grain Belt and a Juicy Lucy I'd grab my Pavian Cutlery (St. Paul MN) Swayback Jack, circa 1906-1920. I think this qualifies for "Some Jazz Age/Art Nouveau colourful celluloid".

It made me recall a little single spring, two blade, MOP jack I found in my grandparents attic years and years ago, when I was a young boy. I wish I still had that little knife.

I can just see my Grandpa Joe putting it in his pocket and heading out for a Sunday walk.

Same as the 1927 me totes EVERY day: A slim, well cared for 3.25" Barlow with stag handles. The steel is a very dark gray, except on the edge, where it's bright shiny silver.
