Today I got news that my nephew just got accepted into the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) in the county of Los Angeles. This is going to be a great career as most of the sparky's here already know this. He also plays guitar and is pretty good.
Many years ago I picked up a small acoustic knowing that one day I will be giving it to him, but I was just waiting for the right moment. Well IMHO it is now with this great news.
He was totally blown away by this knife, he was speechless, he finally said " You got me a Chris Reeve?" I can't believe it, and it's the acoustic CGG. Oh I forgot to mention he loves knives as well. Mostly Benchmades is what he has. But now he has his first Sebenza...:D

I am an IBEW member, and a musician.......but I don't have a generous uncle like you!!!!! Awesome choice. Love the small, and that CGG.

I'm not a Union Lineman but a Journeyman lineman non the less. Congrats to his accomplishments and to your generous gift. That is one amazing sebenza for sure!

Excellent! Since he is into knives he will appreciate even more; but not as much as he will in the future as time marches on and the family tie becomes even more important...

Thank you infocus2006, a lineman is a very respectable trade regardless if union or not.

Thank you very much lemmuhj, the good Lord has been good to me in giving me the ability to work and stay employed. I have a great nephew who I love very much, I wish I could give more, but for now I think he's grateful.

Your thread reminds me of how proud and enthused I was when I was accepted as a Journeyman into the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America local #764 in 1974.

That is very kind and generous of you, I have gifted many knives to friends as they were sworn in as Journeymen in the IATSE, but never a CRK.
 
Big congrats to him and that was awesome of you!

So this has just been sitting in the box waiting for the right moment?
