It's a proud day for me today.

That is very kind and generous of you, I have gifted many knives to friends as they were sworn in as Journeymen in the IATSE, but never a CRK.

Thank you for the kind words James.

Big congrats to him and that was awesome of you!

So this has just been sitting in the box waiting for the right moment?

Thank you UDIVER, yes you are exactly right, waiting for the right time.

That was a very kind and thoughtful gift. It is even better that he recognizes and appreciates the gift.

I have always loved the acoustic cgg but I do not play guitar so I felt it would be false advertising for me to have one.

Thank you very much delkhouri, yes it is, he appreciated it so much, he really couldn't stop thanking the rest of the evening...:D.

He was showing some of his friends that were over who are not knife folks, but they all had nothing but nice things to say about it...

What an awesome loving uncle! Congrats to your nephew. He has his whole life ahead of him. One day twenty years from now, he will pull his knife out and someone will ask him about his knife. He will brag about his cool uncle. Maybe even pass it on to another family member when the right time comes.

Thank you for the kind words Xdm9mili, I am so proud of him...:D. About 6 months ago he and I were discussing the future of the youth, I simply gave him my opinion and that was; there are very few people going into these skilled trades that has made this country great. Great training, good pay and great retirement, along with the ability to do work on the side and/or start your own business. Most high school grads are going into the technical field which I feel is totally saturated, of course making it more difficult to find a good job.
Needless to say he made a decision to become an IBEW member, and that has now come to fruition. A very proud day for me.

Take care

Exactly and great advice. Where I live, the affluent parts of the city are now full of tradesman's trucks in driveways, and the sketchy areas are populated by computer programmers fighting dog-eat-dog for a crappy job at some software development company that will either be sold, outsourced, or go broke at any time. For the first time in many decades the power to earn a good living is for "the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker". Having said that it all goes in cycles, so hopefully your nephew can ride the wave for the better part of his working life, before supply catches up to demand for guys who can do something with their hands.

Yes sir Cody, you are exactly right.

I have a BS degree but I work as a Millwright. I so enjoy working with my hands, it's a great feeling for me.

And my nephew loves working with his hands as well, he's already got a good understanding of electricity so I feel he will have a great career ahead of him.

Take care my friend.

That is so Awesome my friend!! Congratulations to your Nephew!! Not only for being accepted into the local.. and not only for getting a sweet knife!! But for having a true gentleman and role model for an Uncle!! He is indeed a very lucky young man!!

Thank you Dave for the kind words my friend.

I truly am the lucky one, he is such a respectful and loving young man. He just turned 25 on Friday and to this day I still get the biggest hugs from him. He always calls or texts to see how we are doing and to invite us over or to ask if he can come visit...:D. I have many nieces and nephews but he is special.

I am extremely proud and happy for him as he starts this new career in a very respectable trade.

And coming from the forum Prince, again thank you for the kind words Dave.

Take care.

What a great gesture. I am sure he will remember that moment for a lifetime. Great design too....!!! Doesn't get much better than Vintage CRK CGG.

What an awesome gift! I'm sure, no I'm positive, that your nephew will call YOU the more favored uncle. ;)

Thank you nyefmaker, I totally was thinking when I bought it, that one day I would give it to him; seeing how he loves to play guitar. I do appreciate the vintage CGG...

Take care
