A friend of mine brought me an old Benchmade catalog (Winter of 1990) that I had given him 10 years ago. It has all the Bali-Songs and the options that were available at that time. There was a "Bowie Clip", which is pictured, and an optional "Spanish Bowie" blade with more belly and a different clip...

It was a $25 optional blade grind and with standard insert handles was $350, supplied with a Cocoon sheath. Chuck appraised the Dan knife, with the $10 optional white micarta scales at, I feel, a conservative $800. I doubt very seriously if that would even come close to buying it!!!

Ooooo....... man, I like that blade shape a LOT.

It looks like the belly of the blade extends beyond the protection of the kick though.

So whats the deal, does the blade slam the inside of the handles or what??
