It's all Fausto's fault.

The problem with a friction Opinel is that you can only stab the blade through the door of a FRENCH car. Not tactical at all. :D

Yeah but you can slash and slice clean through any car door with your Opinel. That"s almost tactical.

let me know (here or on PM or email) the size of folder you're interested in, and I will help you get a real Sardinian friction folder, in your desired size range. Just don't waste much time looking after one in Maryland. :rolleyes:
As for your question on the pull, it depends a bit on the maker. In general, Dan's idea is accurate, and Sardinian folders have a bit more friction than Opinel's. Sardinian knives have exposed pins, ram's horn does not really shrink or expand like wood, so I would say it's easier to tune a Pattada than an Opinel. For the same reasons, it's likely to stay tuned for a longer time.
