It's been a long night OT Air cane again

I've looked at them over the years but ....... I don't think they are ready for small arms yet. To start off the power requirements seem mighty high for a hand held weapon. I'd have to walk around with an extension cord trailing behind me. :D
 
hmm... seems like a dilly of a problem

what bout using a mechanical spring to generate the force..... and have the barrel ported to disperse the air in the bore
- I remember working on some trucks...changing the maxi-pots for the air brakes.... sometimes we'd put the pod in a heavy duty pipe and cut the bolts... and watch the spring shoot cross the yard... (terrible amount of power in there!)

is 1100 fps really that bad.? if this turns out to be the limit.... you could alway keep the speed but increase the weight of the projectile ( gives more smack down range)..... say by about a pound or two...
