It's been a week, and I still want one

I decided to, after reading the suggestions and considering my options, put my sebenza out for trade with a little cash and see if I can get any takers. Hopefully I get some interest. I think the general consensus of "extra steps = lost money and lost time" is really fair. I'd rather be efficient even if the interim isn't as desirable. Fingers crossed!

Sold a few of my Hinderers.. Tried out a few other makers.. Some I liked........ Some I didn't.......
LOW AND BEHOLD...............:p
Back on the HUNT FOR MORE HINDERERS to put in my stable.
What was I thinking.??????????
This is an TERRIBLE addiction.. It will get ahold of you and NEVER LET GO..........
Go ahead carry your Sebenza.. Save up the $$ and get yourself your FIRST Hinderer..Doesnt matter the SIZE
Its addicting and that's THAT...............
The Most Addicting FUN I have had since I got SOBER 7 years ago
Great Knives--- You wont look back...
The $$ thing.. Its a chunk of change ...YUP..........WORTH IT..........
WORTH EVERY PENNY.......
:DMany will verify and back my sentiments:D...............

I have asked a few questions today, and several have been kind enought to answer. Let's try one more.

As I read this thread, there are many people that have said, "ZT's are not as robust as a Hinderer". I just bought a ZT550 a couple of weeks ago, and love the knife. That thing is really smooth, really sharp, uses good materials, and built like a tank.

So are you telling me, that a real Hinderer is built even more solid? I am not trying to put Rick's "consulted" products on par with his "real" products. Not at all! I am just really curious now, as to actually how beasty these are. The more the better.

As a side note, I have not ever laid eyes on a Hinderer, in person. I am willing to buy this sight unseen, based on the following he has. He must be a good man, surrounded by good men.

Wordsmith time to avoid offending others...

It's not so much that one is more "over-built" or more of a "tank" than the other...but it IS that the XM is more refined. The ZTs have mass-produced fit & finish where XMs have hand-fitted, hand-assembled and Rick's hand sharpening.

ZTs have things like steel liners on an otherwise Ti frame...why? In bulk-buy the costs were likely minimal to do it "right" instead of mis-matched materials. And let's be honest the factory 0550 G10 pattern is....uhm....not for me.

I should probably add that some ZTs are hand assembled and that my earlier words apply more to the overall "feel" of the knives. It's obvious while holding these things (ZTs or XMs) in your hands the differences I'm trying to suggest.

I think you folks will appreciate this. My girlfriend is the very cautious type around knives. Though she really would never admit it, since she didn't really grow up in a place where all men carry knives like I did, she is still a little nervous around them. She walked up and saw me looking at Hinderer's the other day and immediately said, without knowing anything about them, their cost, reputation or anything of the sort, "Oh I like that! When you order one, get me one too?" I know I appreciate them knowing precisely what they are, but it says something when their stand alone artistry and aesthetics appeals to even non knife folks.
