But I'm actually going to buy a new knife! Egad!

I hath questions, as I've been out of the game for over a year due to illness.

I'm looking between $100 and $200. No thumbstuds. ~3 inch blade. No S30V.

I'm inquisitive of WE knives and also their Massdrop collaboration. Don't know much about them despite lots of research.

I'm looking to try something different. I own a Kizer and like, so being foreign made does not bother me. It's mainly something new to fidget with, until I'm back on my feet and etc.

Thanks y'all in advance.

Perhaps an iteration of the Para 3 that's not S30V? Many other steel choices to choose from.

I hope you are doing better KOD. Best of luck to you on a healthy 2019.

I don't have a Kizer or WE knife, so I can't comment on those. I know they are very popular and supposedly well made. Brous has a few in that price range. I have no experience with them either.

Since you are looking for something different, I'll mention...

LionSteel SR22A
Viper Vox Kyomi
GiantMouse ACE Biblio looks interesting
I really like my Boker Caracal in D2. Very under rated knife imo. $80ish

Is a traditional/slipjoint or automatic an option?

Surprised it hasn’t come up yet.. The Massdrop/WE Keen. There’s been a lot of buzz about it here the past few months. I don’t follow Massdrop, so I don’t know if it’s still available or not, I think so. It’s a flipper if that is of interest, very clean and minimalist design too.

Well it looks like the neverending drop has ended, at least for now. I’ve seen a few pop on the exchange for pretty great prices somewhat recently, though.

Fallkniven are doing some really nice folders at the moment . Though I am not sure on US prices it might be worth you taking a look :) and I hope your back on your feet soon mate .

I'm in Illinois, so it can be complicated with automatics.. I'm pretty much stuck with buying online, as walking is a challenge right now, and the closest store I could even get an auto or anything good is 30+ minutes away.

I've a few traditionals, but they don't do a whole lot for me.

I owned an SR-1a and hated it. I've owned so many knives I forget until reminded. Damn stroke.

I've owned a bazillion Spyderco's. I am actually going to finally replace my long lost Dragonfly ZDP-189, but I'm not including that in my search. It's for when I have to go into the city, where anything longer than a 2.5" blade is considered a weapon of mass destruction and they'd put me on the terrorist watch list.

I have a Brous, 1st gen Bionic. Nice little knife, but I had to modify it to fit and work better. Probably won't buy another one from them.

Thank for the get well wishes. I'm really struggling. A new knife will be a nice pick me up.

A Buck Marksman would hit the price point and scratch the fidgeting itch fairly well I would think.

Check out the Manly Wasp , they have a couple different steel available . I am going to get one .

It's been a while, since I have bought myself a knife.
And it's been a while, since I got sliced open.
It's been a while, since I could say that I wasn't addicted.
And its been a while, but I can still remember the first knife I had.

And every knife I can't remember.
As uneven as that bevel may seem, I guess it must be me.
The framelock may not hold when spine whacked.
I strech my budget beyond my means...

WE is one of the best brands currently. Tons of designs with almost no issues that I've heard of so far. They even recently branched out into a slip joint and kitchen knives.

So just check the We section on blade hq. They have just about any type and size flipper you could want.

The Massdrop/FF Gent is a nice blade for the money and fits your requirements. It does have bearings if that makes a difference.

Huh, I was just looking at the gent. Can't believe the price. May have to get one.

Ok, I've got the (insert expletive here _______) song stuck in my head. Songs tend to stick around in there too. For three days it was the Eagles "Take it easy" and then Skynyrd's "Simple man." Now, Skynyrd and Staind are fighting each other for dominance. It's been a while since I was a simple kind of man...

My poor head.

Back on track. It's between the tan WE Practic and Massdrop Terzuola CTF in carbon fiber.
