It's been awhile...

Ok, I've got the (insert expletive here _______) song stuck in my head. Songs tend to stick around in there too. For three days it was the Eagles "Take it easy" and then Skynyrd's "Simple man." Now, Skynyrd and Staind are fighting each other for dominance. It's been a while since I was a simple kind of man...

My poor head.

Back on track. It's between the tan WE Practic and Massdrop Terzuola CTF in carbon fiber.

I keep finding myself looking at the Zinker Dogtooth from Massdrop (WE).

It'll probably be my next purchase.

I like it too, except for the blade grind.

Yeah, I go back and forth on it. I generally steer away from a compound grind but this, on the surface anyway, seems logically done. Thin and slicey toward the tip and more robust near the hilt where you can really bear down on it.

Unnecessary for most use I'm sure, but not silly at least. We'll see. I considered the Terzoula as well. I'd like a larger version of that particular knife.

Good to see you around again mate. Hope things keep getting better for ya.

Thanks! I have a few that need love that as soon as I'm able I'll set something up with you.

After much hemming and hawing, I nearly pulled the trigger on OD green FF Gent. I decided to check the exchange one last time, and BAM! Carbon fiber version for sale. Happened to be from my same state too.

Thanks everyone for all your help. I appreciate it.

Days late and dollars short, I was gonna suggest a viper ten. Any case, congrats on the purchase, let us know what you think.

I have a Massdrop Keen Laconico...
I have been carrying it since I got it a month ago and it's great.
It feels like a $300 knife, but at half the price.
There are a few...very few...used...and you have to be there first to get it.
One sold today...wasn't listed long at all...several hrs.

Sold me...so I just ordered the Dogtooth, 20 seconds ago...still searching for one of the Portal Keens!

K.o.D. I am interested in the Practic too!! Looks amazing, and the tan is great. If you get one let us know what you think!
Also, that Zinker is freaking awesome. If it was a front flipper, id be all over it.
Keep 'em sharp.

Edit to add: Ive had the song "Welcome Home" by the O.C. Supertones stuck in my head for two weeks on repeat. Lol. Glad i like it. Even with the radio on i cant shake it.

I love the gent feels like it should be well over $200 to me. More later, Dilaudid is making it hard to focus. They're talking surgery now ugh

I have the pm2 in rex45. It's ok, just another pm2 at the end of the day
I'm with you. The steel and Spyderco's heat treat seem quite good. There's a video of BBB doing a toughness test by whittling a copper rod and trying to chip the edge. Unless he does the same test with other steels it's hard to know what the difference is. It does seem to have excellent edge retention.

As do S110V, 4V, 10V, K390, and (maybe) M4. I have no doubt Spydero hit a home run with it with Rex 45. There will be others.

The whole package is great. But for me, the Native in hand, is what the PM2 is to me on paper. I love the PM2, I love the concept of Rex-45. But at the end of the day and in real life - a Native LW in s35V or hell a case mini trapper and Alox Cadet generally suits my needs a lot better.

Of course this doesn't explain my love for the Milli or why I keep on trying knives and doing an EDC rotation, feel the need to get a knife with new steel every now and then, lol.

While researching the Gent on Massdrop and trying to determine if I should just try to beg, borrow or steal another Spyderco GB Air (I sold the one that I had), I discovered the Bradford Guardian 3.5 fb in Nitro-V....definitely a knife in the "want bucket" now...

My Natives and Sages get a lot of pocket time. Para 3s with a deep clips gets some.
