I knew that today was the last chance for the mailman but I had no doubts. Somehow, I walked out just as the mailman came to the door (mailman senses tingling). Sure enough, there was a box with my name on it!
The unopened box
So, I got to work on it. Black tanto Zing was used to open the tape up.

I was greeted with packing peanuts, an invoice, a notepad, and a red box. The note on the gift receipt was one of cheer and well wishes, which I gratefully accept.
The opened box...
The notepad turns out to be made out of rainproof paper! Now I just need to take up some hardcore activities to use this to his full extent.

Now, to the knife. I told bad_juju that I couldn't decide between the Asset and the Chill (it took a lot out of me to narrow it down even that far. He had a very generous list to pick from). I didn't look at the name - I just wanted to open it and find out the old fashioned way.
Unknown knife box
I opened the box and it was...
An Asset! It's a sharp looking piece (in the usual double-meaning the word "sharp" takes on in the knife world). The handle is absolutely the most comfortable shape I've got so far (admittedly, I don't have many, the Blur in particular which I hear to be very ergonomic). I probably wouldn't buy a serrated edge by myself so I relish this opportunity to see a combo edge in action. The Speedsafe is smooth and the sweeping blade begs to slice. Santa_juju chose well and I'm very grateful.
