It's Chris REEVE - not Reeves!!

All I know is when I watch a YouTube video about CRK and the presenter says reeves I immediately turn it off. If the presenter can't get the name right then I don't trust their opinion.

THIS is exactly what I mean. I'm sorry, but that just makes me lose interest as well. I'm sure Mr. Reeve doesn't care, but I do. And the list doesn't stop there. Folks who use "your" in place of "you're" ,or "there" in place of "their" and "they're" - we were certainly all given the same elementary education, and it really makes me wonder if it's just plain lack of intelligence, or is it they just don't care? All I know is I wouldn't make a very good spelling/English teacher as I would be constantly frustrated at these simple mistakes.
End rant.

lack of knowledge or information.
Is what I contribute it to.

I have to admit, I haven't seen that one too many times. When I have, I just shake my head...

I remember an ad for a Chris Reeves Sabenza awhile back for an amazing deal, but it's hard to trust a buyer that doesn't know what they have....

These are also the common spellings on armslist and craigslist.

Well as someone who spent three years in the 8th grade.. and relies on spell check whenever I write a post or send an e-mail.. I too have to admit it bugs the hell out of me!! ;) But I think we are all guilty one time or another in making errors in grammar.. but when it comes to someone's name it makes you look even stupider than you may actually be.. or in my case are. As to whether or not in troubles Mr. Reeve.. I can't really say, but I am sure if nothing else he is annoyed by it. You would think that anyone who knows even a little bit about knives would at least try to pronounce one of the most innovative and well known makers in the industry's name correctly. I mean hey how many times to your hear Rick Hinder, or Mick Stryder.. or well you get the point... if there was one. I just was kind a practicing my typing. Which by the way I got an "F" in when I finally made it out of the 8th grade and into High School.. the longest six years of my life.. but that's another story.
All the best, David.. I mean Dave..

+1. IMO, it is due to laziness, and also a prevalent feeling among some, today, that mediocrity is good enough.

Who's this Chris Reeve character you're all talking about? You mean to tell me superman isn't the one who made my knife?!

It bugs me because he deserves to be addressed by his proper name. I've struggled with people misspelling my name my whole life. I know that nagging feeling

If it doesn't bother the owner of the name why should you get bothered? My name gets slaughtered all the time so I know it's me they are calling up to the desk. I would be very surprised if someone not related to me pronounces it correctly.

I guess I take a contrarian view. Makes no difference to me what people call them as long as I know what they are talking about. Correcting people can make you sound like a CRK snob. Not suggesting anyone here would do that. Like people who own a Porsche correcting people who pronounce it Porsch without the "eh" on the end. I doubt if even Mr. Reeve himself cares as long as people are buying his knives.

Besides some people use the shortened plural form of Chris Reeve Knives to refer to multiple knives, so it is not always incorrect. For example, I could say I own 10 Chris Reeves or I own 12 Randalls (knives implied). Remember its not just his name, its the name of a company and many people use the short plural form of company's goods. I have 3 Fords, 2 Hondas, 3 Benchmades, 5 Spydercos, etc. No disrespect to any of the founders of those companies intended. Yes I understand the correct way would be to say I have 3 Ford trucks or 2 Honda cars, etc.

No doubt some people just don't know or likely don't give it much thought. Just sharing my opinion, which is likely different than most here.

I completely understand that you got to have 3 Fords and 2 Hondas, otherwise it would be pretty difficult to transport those 12 little Randalls......

Sorry, couldn't resist.
