Its cold as hell and windy...

Don't listen to those Eskimos.:thumbdn: :D

Even though that is a high temp over here in the winter, I prefer not to camp in it. I love hiking and being outdoors during a cold snowy winter day, but I prefer sitting infront of the fireplace drinking a beer in the evening then going into a warm bed.;)

I can handle that weather fine. Its the sleet that just can make you miserable. Really chills ya to the bone.

Have fun bro. Drink lotsa hot liquids, and smoke a nice Cigar for me.

Post pics, you have me curious bout the chemical suit.

Whatever you do, dont get sleazy and look at Tonys package.:D:thumbup::p

We are all having a little bit of fun, but in all seriousness,
take what you feel you need in order to keep warm, then
take more.
Like pitdog says, take lots of pictures too!!!

Sounds like a cold/wet trip:thumbdn: Not for me :D I used to camp every winter (deer season ) with my father, Loved it but I was alot younger & the cold didn't bother me near as much. Be safe, Stay warm, & have fun !!!!
Take alot of pics !!!

Yeah, I dont know man, its -20*C here, and were just scraping the cold weather barrel......
No, your not nutz, come up here and then we'll talk:D

Well, it only gets below zero where I live a few times a year, but 30* was probably our average temperature for November. Coldest November that I can remember, at least toward the end. All of last week (deer season) I was out sitting from 6:30 AM until 5:30 PM and I didn't get to uncomfortable, except the wind blowing snow into my face.

Good luck, and take lotsa pictures!! Just don't forget to stay warm while taking them!

I agree J cool and wet is nasty.

On another note, it's about 15 degrees here now. Finally some decent cold weather!

its about time the cold finally hit us. since i moved to oklahoma, i have been pretty disappointed by the lack of cold, but these temps are starting to feel good. but the 115 degree summers are also fun.

Two years ago on this campout it was about -5 F. At least there are not any bugs around, but it is a little tough to change clothes before bed. Have a good time on your campout.

For sure! Twenty below is easy to deal with, freezing with sleet is a headache. It's the temperatures right around freezing combined with high humidity that generally make for the toughest conditions. Very tricky to stay warm enough, but not too warm. Always swapping layers around... Not that I wouldn't go anyway!

With a proper 3 season sleeping bag, I think a little below 0C is a really nice weather to go hiking. Have fun! :)

You should be careful camping in that kind of temp. You might suffer from heat-stroke:cool::D:D

Just looked at the thermometer...says 2 degrees F...I should probably wear my coat today. :D -Matt-

Try not to sweat, if you start getting warm, unzip outer layers or take them off. Have fun. Take extra socks and base layer in case they get wet.

My bags are packed and I am ready to go...have to tie up some things for the wife but about 1pm i am outa here...yes i will take pics....and i know the layering process and the dangers of sweat...

I am gonna have some good times...

oh yeah, forgot this one thing to tell you all....

this is a two pronged overnighter....M1 Carbine and my new g 19 are going with me......hehehhehehehehe

gonna ring some bells!

and snow is projected mixed wit sleet...the temp is not going to go over 30...and i am doing an overnight...(tomorrow)

am i nuts? my wife says yes, TexasTony calls me a dumba$$, and J williams says i am an idiot.

well those are all more than likely true..but i am doing it anyway...;)

Yes, you are a dumba$$. I wish I was going to be a dumba$$ too. I doubt I'll get to go camping until after Xmas.

Today in CT we have a heat wave going on. It feels like its 60 degrees right now, but rainy. Tomorrow it is forecasted to snow. Just wierd weather.
