That's one of the big advantages of INFI. The steel is amazingly flexible, and while bringing the edge into contact with the ceramic/glass of the plate does unsharpen your plate comparatively quickly, all it does is bend the thinnest sharpest portion a little, and a quick strop brings it back to shaving, without any actual edge damage.

as long as you dont chop down with the plate or any glass underneath, there is nothing to worry about.

like any knife, if it comes in to contact with ceramic excessively, it will dull.

Morimoton, I would keep the lady friend away from the apes on this forum. No manners at all. I am glad you are able to get your lady friend to handle your Busse. I had to work on mine for a month to get her to handle the FBMLE once (she likes knives, but was miffed at how I acquired it).
