the ''sharkfin'' (or lack thereof) is for sure a personal opinion thing. I dont like em, reason I hadn't bought a 9 before...then I discovered from pics on here it can be removed LOL I bought this Knowing the 'ramp was gonna get gone.Handle mod looks great TB! The lack of thumbramp ain't my thing, but looks clean. Good work!
oh yes, thumbs way way up for the texturing!!! I've been doing hand-comparison tests all day between the 9 with texture and the 2 without....stippling is way better.Good mods, Thrillbilly. I just did some stippling on several of my knives as well. And one machete. The difference is night and day. Makes me appreciate the grivory a lot more.

Nice stippling jog as well.
I thought the thing just got in my way, never used a blade with a ramp before so maybe I'm ''trained'' to not want one. Even Mr Becker said it was a afterthought, a member of his team wanted it, he tried it and didnt see that it hurt anything so he went ahead and added the 'ramp. (or at least that's how I interpeted a comment he made awhile back on the subject)
before a couple 3 weeks ago I'd never modded on a blade, I'm not that great at it but I'm just happy I aint effed one up yet. Just taking my time, reading all I can about it, being uber-careful...''measure twice cut once'' is even more true in metalworking then in woodworking! This is something i've always been intrigued by, just baby-stepping my way along the learning curve. Maybe one day I'll be up to more complex steel-work. I spend a lot of time stalkin/lurkin in the custom knifemakers' forums.
