It's Good to be the KING! *edited with After mod pics

Handle mod looks great TB! The lack of thumbramp ain't my thing, but looks clean. Good work!
the ''sharkfin'' (or lack thereof) is for sure a personal opinion thing. I dont like em, reason I hadn't bought a 9 before...then I discovered from pics on here it can be removed LOL I bought this Knowing the 'ramp was gonna get gone.
Good mods, Thrillbilly. I just did some stippling on several of my knives as well. And one machete. The difference is night and day. Makes me appreciate the grivory a lot more.
oh yes, thumbs way way up for the texturing!!! I've been doing hand-comparison tests all day between the 9 with texture and the 2 without....stippling is way better.

How do you like it for hand comfort and control when carving without the thumb ramp?

Nice stippling jog as well.

I thought the thing just got in my way, never used a blade with a ramp before so maybe I'm ''trained'' to not want one. Even Mr Becker said it was a afterthought, a member of his team wanted it, he tried it and didnt see that it hurt anything so he went ahead and added the 'ramp. (or at least that's how I interpeted a comment he made awhile back on the subject)

before a couple 3 weeks ago I'd never modded on a blade, I'm not that great at it but I'm just happy I aint effed one up yet. Just taking my time, reading all I can about it, being uber-careful...''measure twice cut once'' is even more true in metalworking then in woodworking! This is something i've always been intrigued by, just baby-stepping my way along the learning curve. Maybe one day I'll be up to more complex steel-work. I spend a lot of time stalkin/lurkin in the custom knifemakers' forums.

That handle looks great. Think i'm going to have to break out the soldering iron when i get home.

Sweet transformation! How does the stippling feel when chopping? Any hotspots?

I kinda want to modify the scales of my 2 now...I wonder if I can find some glow in the dark stuff :D

I had expected orange liners, but WOW! It works man, looks fine.
lol thanks, I sanded it down some more, just kept the dusting of orange in the stippled areas...kinda reminds me of the old bakelite(?) burnt orange AK grips.

Its about the texture of say sharkskin...I only stippled the flats, the top, back and bottom are smooth. I have seen folks only stipple the front half of the grips so the rear is smooth for chopping. To be honest Im still tweaking on it so I aint used it much to test. I usually wear work gloves anyways if I'm doing much work.

I'm curious as to which SOG you thought of comparing it to? I'm gonna guess a Jungle Primitive or Jungle Canopy? If its the Canopy, how does it perform? I've been eyeing one since they came out and with its cost it seems like a great deal.

the SOG remark was brought on by the lighthearted dispute in this thread about my considering the BK2 about equal in chopping to my SOG hawk
