Wow! It's like a dream come true. Nice little box waiting for me. Tucked away inside was my BladeForums Special Edition Sifu, complete with a letter of authenticity for serial number three. Mike, your pictures are true to form, this knife is a winner! One side of the blade has the usual Rekat logo, and also now says "D-2 Enhanced"! The flip side says "Special Edition 03/75"!

Now I'm troubled. With this letter of authenticity and everything, I don't know if I want to caryy it around or what!

I keep coming back to the fact that this blade is a Rekat, and it WANTS to be carried!

I might have to buy another...but it'll have a serial number too....damned decisions....Thanks to Mike, Bob, Christina, and everyone else that made this thing happen. As you all can tell, I'm real happy with this knife!

Hank,

I had the same problem when I bought my Bladeforums REKAT Carnivore, the answer was to buy a second Bladeforums/REKAT Carnivore!
Now I have one for show and one for go.

CONGRATS on the Sifu! Maybe I'll have a decision like that to make in the near term. I'll probably start having auditory hallucinations of that big brown truck coming up the drive to bring me one in stonewash.
Regards,
Clyde

Easyrider,
It's probably gonna be buying a stonewashed version, but the "problem" is that they're all serialized with letters of authenticity as well!

Such a problem, right! I love the feel of this knife.

Rawhide_clyde,
you won't regret this one. I like the original, but this one just falls into reverse grip.

Toothed,
I feel your pain....just remember, there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Hank,
The red/black Bladeforums REKATs are all serial numbered also, just put one up on the shelf and use the hell out of the other numbered REKAT.

Well, got mine today (#14). My first reaction, as seems to be typical among those I show it to, was "Holy crap, that's huge!".

Amazingly, it fits comfortably in my pocket, doesn't feel like it weighs as much as my MT LCC, and is comfortable in the hand.

I'll definitely be using mine. Other than a couple customs, I really only collect users. This knife appears to be pretty close to indestructible, so I'm not worried about wearing it out...

Easyrider/Brett,
I think the both of you have convinced me of what I have to do now....buy a stonewashed model and use them both!!!

I could have used either of the two sifu's I have now yesterday. A board was knocked down on the fence between my house and my neighbor right behind me. When I went out to check it out, first, his pitbull mix poked it's head through and announced itself. I "only" had my carnivore on me, but it was out quick. Then, a bigger mutt, kind of like some junkyard dog stuck it's head through and really didn't like me. Yelled at them both, but feeling the need to have my S&W model 19 with me, I backed back into the house. That neighbor wasn't home, but I got another guy to go knock on his door for a while. My neighbor leaves the door open to his garage from the backyard for the dogs, and them ran in there to bark at my other neighbor! I got a hammer, nails and my BK&T Brute and quickly fixed the fence!

Still didn't want to use the Sifu yet, but I'll get there!

Hey, Brett, where in Santa Clara are you? I grew up there, graduated from Wilcox HS, many moons ago, back when we were "Warriors", not "Chargers"!

I'm both happy and unhappy with the knife. I had the same reaction as everyone above. I was thinking that it would be nice to have one in the safe and one IWB. Despite the large size, this knife is more comfortable to carry than my Sere 2000, or my MT LCC. The Sere sits front IWB with greater concealment, but it isn’t as comfortable. The LCC is even less comfortable, but better looking. The locking system will take some practice. I have flipped my wrist on a number of occasions and ended up with a knife that needed some Viagra. I'll have to practice that release.

Well, now for the unhappy part. Two weeks ago I got married. Now, I'm happy about that, but my days of buying furniture and fewer guns and knives are in full force. So, I'll be using this knife whenever I'm in jeans. The safe won't be greeting any new occupants for a long time. Great knife....Thanks..glad that I didn't cancel.

Been carring SE #8 for a week now. I will be buying another to use...

Lots of comments and requests from my coworkers on where to purchase. The blade rubs the left side liner, causing a small mark on the Black-T, but other than that the grooveless handle and numbering are making this a collectable knife. Until next year when I can afford a beater Sifu I will be carring it strictly as a "get-yer-cotton-pickin-hands-off-my-blaster-before-you-litterally-draw-back-a-stump" knife.
