The balanced khuk came on thursday. This thing is a real buet. Razor sharp and good finish ecxept loose buttcap . I will fix that this afternoon . Thanks for the prompt service .

I will test it this weekend and let everyone know . So far it is a wondrful knife . It feels like an extension of my hand . This is a wonderful blade that should be a regular model .

Edd, something for you to bring to our next lunch meeting!

Not fair, guys! Off-line meetings. I feel betrayed

Just kidding. You can bet that if I ever find myself in your neck of the woods, I'm coming in for a complimentary cup of coffee!

Edd: You've got one of two. I don't see myself carrying the Balance anytime soon, as I am not sure what practical advantage that particular shape offers users. The thin lower portion precludes it from being a serious chopper, so I'm not sure what to think. It IS a beautiful piece, but I'm just not sure it's practical. Your opinion?

As for practicality , it's as strong as any camp knife (ie. gerber bowie , green river skinner ) that I have , plus it does chop better than either . I have a 20 inch khuk that is for the big stuff . It is razor sharp , and rock solid. I cut up a whole chicken with this thing and it is better than my chinese cleaver or ulchet. It draw cuts flesh like a band saw. If I were to carry a genral perpose knife , this is it.
I think my other large fixed blades just got retired.

p.s. Gottlieb, if you ever come this way you are more than welcome to attend a "secret
meeting of the Khuk-O-Philles" .

Let me know the next time there's a big gun show down your neck of the woods. I need a dealer down there, and I usually find the "right" guy by setting up at a show myself, letting him see how many khukuris we sell, and then they usually are lining up to buy what remaining inventory I brought with me.

Not a problem . There are two areas that you should look into , one is Birmingham , and the other is Huntsville . Here in Huntsville , our gun/knife shows are at the local Cahaba Shrine Temple . If you know any Shriners up there let them know you are interested in putting up a booth at some shows .

P.S. I'd be more than willing to help out personaly in any way possible .
