It's like living in a bad Christmas movie!

Merry Christmas brother, to you and your's.

Hopefully you find something after the new year. Never give up.

That's a bummer. Sorry to hear it, man. Real life Scrooge's do exist. I feel sorry for them. Must be a crappy way to go through this life.

JTT, As others have said, things like this can turn into a positive situation (although it is not easy to go through). Many years ago a friend of mine was working at a company where I used to work, and he received a permanent layoff after 10+ years with the company. Then he got a better job at another company that paid more, and he was much happier – I hope something like this happens for you. Best wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous new year!

Hey John, really sorry to hear about what you're going through :(. Wish you and your family all the best!

I know what would John would love, a very special knife that would signify all that is good in life, a knife so epic and amazing its very creation and existence would bring its owner good fortune, health and happiness.

We're not 100% sure what that knife will look like, only Jerry knows that, but we know its name because Jerry already gave it one.

Sorry to hear you got scrooged, but at least you won’t have to work for someone with as black a soul they consider 2 weeks’ severance generous. I hope you don’t end up having to sell any of your busse, and best of luck. Oh, and happy new year !

John,
I am so very sorry. GOOD JUJU heading to you from me. You deserve the best after all the hard work you put into that company. I believe GREAT Things happen to great people. You are a great person!!!!!!! Many great things will come to you.

All the best John and sorry to hear about the sudden change in your circumstances.
I’ll keep an eye out for the PR’s.

JTT - horrible timing, and being in limbo is never a fun place to be.

God does work in mysterious ways, and I believe you will come out on the good. I doubt you will be down for long, and I will say a prayer for it.

Amidst this, all the best in this New Year, and beyond.

C

Thanks for all the sympathetic words and good wishes. I'm sure it's all for the best. Since I started that job two years ago, I gained 50 pounds and I haven't had a decent night's sleep without lots of booze or an Ambien. Now I'm sleeping just fine and a have month off before the new job starts. Just not as much Busse money for a while (except some Black Friday shop credits).

Seriously man, I really do hope things get much better for you. And, I'll just bet they do.

Damn. Got the COBRA letter today. $1800 a month to continue the health insurance for me and my wife, and neither of us has any health issues. Good thing the insurance with the new job kicks in in March. I'm having a really hard time seeing how our system is superior to the Canadian, British, Swedish, Japanese, etc. systems that provide better results at less than half the cost. That's two Nuclear Forsaken Mistresses with enough left over for sheaths for ONE MONTH. It's insane.

I don’t know any country that has health care figured out but we’re as clueless as it gets, for sure. Glad the new job is lined up. You’ll get there brother.
