Well I don't have many pictures on here but I'll tell you a story that truly blew my mind. When I was in high school I was in my schools AFJROTC unit (Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps). I was a junior and my unit competed in a national academic ROTC challenge. About May we were told we had made it round 3, the national level and that we would be flown out to Washington DC for an all expenses paid 3 day trip to compete against the 11 other best teams in the world. I remember getting off the plane at 5 oclock in Washington and getting told by my Colonel and Sergeant that we were going to see as many monuments as possible during the first night because we would be busy on the second day until about 10 PM. I got to experience the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the WW1, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam memorials, as well as the Smithsonian and Holocaust museums, the Arlington National Cemetery, as well as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Changing of the Guard. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Then the next day we competed for 8 straight hours in a no holds barrred jeopardy style competition of every single subject from trigonometry to ancient greek demi-gods. We ended up taking 7th place in the world and I was awarded the Veteran of Foreign Wars medal as well as the Air Force Sergeants Association medal for my contribution. I miss that trip, because it was so many experiences in such a short period, as well as one of the most humbling and accomplishing things I've ever had the pleasure of doing.

cool story, and congrats sounds fantastic! Are they associated with the CAP at all, I was in a similar corps in England and met some intentional "cadets" from different sir force junior organizations, I seem to remember the American's coming from the CAP, or something similar. Could have it wrong though :)

Just for kicks

I carry knives because they are useful tools that I use one or more times every single day. I've carried a knife for so long, I feel naked without one - like when I have to go to the courthouse and they won't let you in with one. Since I carry at least 1 fixed blade and 2 locking folders everyday, it's a PITB to strip the sheath off the belt before going in. Then, finally on a trip in, I had had enough. I simply took the knife out of the sheath and stuck it between the seats and went through security with the sheath on my belt. That's when the security deputies had kittens.

"What's that?"
"A knife sheath."
"Why do you have it?"
"To carry my knife."
"Where's the knife?
"In the truck."
"Why's it in the truck."
"Because y'all have a sign on the door that says no knives in the courthouse."
"You can't do that."
"Do what?"
"Take a sheath in the courthouse."
"Why not?"
"It's in the law."
"Whose law, Stalin's?"
"Not, the judge."

Don't know where this would have ended up because a Deputy SGT came by (who I know well) and he asked what was going on. When I told him about our little conversation, he just looked at the deputies guarding the entry and said "God, my goats are smarter than you 2." and waved me in. I have no clue what he told them after I left, but I haven't had the same problem since. :D

Its the one he did a few years ago but I'm on the list for one of the new ones he has coming out soon.

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please dont let Kevin Bacon die!

My daughter woke up this morning and one of her four hamsters had died.
"Dad, I want another one just like it," she said.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied.
So I reached into the cage, pulled out a second hamster and threw it hard against the wall.

I told my dad to embrace his mistakes.
He cried...then he hugged my sister & me.

The midnight moon apple pie is my favorite. It's almost like candy lol. Glad to see I'm not alone!

It took me by surprise the first time I tried it, better than expected. I try to keep a jar in the refrigerator and my dotshot in the freezer for a quick sip whenever the time is just right.
