It's not that being blown away by a Fisk project is something new for me...

... but... well.... I've fallen and I can't get up.

Photo deleted by decree of the supreme commander of all things.

The matched hunter and matched folder sets were each fantastic in their own rights. But I'm a bowie guy - and this is one of the more memorable sights I have ever beheld.

Yeah man I was actually gonna start a thread about this last night but didn't. Its stunning and i wish i owned just one of them!

Now there's Bowie Heaven for the collector, and Bowie Hell for the maker:D
All are certainly fantastic, and show not only Jerry's skill. but his patience as well:eek:!!

Yes..quite incredible. Does anyone know why it is called the Joe Ford project? All going to him or he was just the first of many?

As I understand it, this is the third set of knives ordered by the customer (the previously posted sets were of folders and Sendero hunters - all handled with ivory from the same massive pair of mammoth tusks) to be given as Christmas gifts to his family members.

I am officially available for adoption. :)

Roger

This Bowie set is the third set of three commissioned as Christmas presents given each year by a preferably un-named Fisk client. The sets include a 11 piece Sendero hunter set (2008), a 11 pieces Old Thorny Folder set (2009) and the Bowie set above.

The thread below gives quite a bit of background information on the sets including some interesting information and photos of the ivory for these knives. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=737527

As these Bowies are Christmas presents being given to the client's family members tomorrow morning, the plan was to post the above photo, thus completing the above thread/story after Christmas. ;)

I hope the cat hasn't been let out of the bag as the saying goes. ;)

Yep - it also gives the name of the client.

Well, they weren't posted here first. And since the previous thread made reference to the next set being one of bowies, it couldn't have been much of a state secret, could it? ;) ;)

Only the last name which is a very popular name in the US.

They were posted on the photographer's photo storage site not a forum. Anyway, not like it's a classified secret, I just ask first.

Yes - a photo site accessible to anyone. Stuff posted on the internet is presumptively not confidential. And if the name of the client were confidential, it likely would not have been included on a photograph posted to a photo site accessible to anyone.

You know, if there was a real issue with posting this, I suspect you would have sent me an e-mail explaining it and asking me to delete the thread - I'd have no problem with that.

If, on the other hand, you just saw it as an opportunity to act like an arrogant ass and give me another one of your public dressings down, well, you might do exactly as you have done.

But out of an abundance of caution, I will remove the pic.

Hey, it wouldn't be a Christmas story without Scrooge.

Roger

dangit, i missed the Pics:(

Real sorry you couldn't..Er..Em...chose not to keep them up Roger . Merry Christmas Buddy!

Well, I saw them, but I will promptly unsee them, and now that I've seen them, they were absolutely out of this world, but now unseen they are just a blank. I'm not really sure there was or is any damage done. Just a matter of hours now and they will be fondled and drooled over by whomever and I doubt the edge (no pun) will be taken off the excitement.

Now I'm going over by the fire place and wait for Santa!:D

Dammit, Rog, all this anticipation and I get "photo deleted?" May you get a lump of coal in your stocking tomorrow morning!

Jerry's work is always a WOW but 10 bowies of this quality? Hard to describe.
Makes you wish that you were on the Christmas list.
