I'm 72 but nobody calls me old...except a young lady.At the gym,she had a box cut open. She was going to use a key!
I said let me help...pulled a little Buck stockman & cut it open. She thanked me & said...you carry a knife!! Then said may I see it ....she looked at it (in my hand)...She then smiled & said my grandpa used to carry a small knife like that.....do all old men carry a pocket knife?Do you carry it "every day"?? I said yep! Does your dad carry a pocket knife? She said no....I don't know anybody...but you who has a pocket knife!!Yep....I'm old!

My Grand Daughter is a Knife lover, I've been giving her knives since she was 4, MUCH to my Daughters dismay:D This Christmas she wanted a Rainbow Chive, I have sinned, again, much to my Daughters dismay. My wonderful GD calls me a crazy old man:D She's right.

Best regards

Robin

About 10 years ago while working in civil service for the Tenn. Air National Guard a SSgt asked me to cut something for him because they all new I always had at least a knife or three on me. I pull out a stockman instead of my modern folder to cut it and he steps back and starts repeating over and over "you got an old man knife"! I'm like what ever dude! I was around 43 then!

You missed out on a perfect opportunity. You should have given that buck to her!!!

Can't be that old if you are chatting up young women at the gym!

I've always said I've been old since I was a kid...probably wouldn't have taken the knife out of my pocket, even if I'd known that was the cause.
If the only reason you've ever been called old was because you carry a knife, you're doing okay

OLD?????

Heck, go tell that little gal we ain't old, we're just well seasoned! Like a piece of old hickory. As for old men carrying a pocket knife, it ain't the knife to worry about, it's big stick that Teddy gave sage advice to.

We are not "old"!!! We are "vintage antiques"!

(at least that is what one of my nieces says i am)

I'm also 72 and been collecting, crafting, customizing knives since I was 8. Yes, I am old, bordering on ancient! Also fixed in my ways and with specific likes and dislikes. Like most all knives except those techno-frankenknives. Started at 8 with a Queen bone handled barlow from my grandfather; still love barlows, have about 30 various old and new. Now EDC a SAK Tinker and a Kershaw Crown or Drone since a OHO is very handy when you need a cane. Not much gray patina as not much to have gray in :-)
