It's ready....the NEW LaGana VTAC: pricing, specs, and wonderful pics by Shelby Chan

Mr. Prisco - Just checked your forum and saw the new 'hawk. Believe Mr. LaGana would approve. I have an ATC ax here in Iraq with me - it is performing wonderfully as both tool and SD weapon (of choice). You folks at ATC do great work and a great service to those on the front lines - whispered prayer for your daughter and family - KASIK - Northern Iraq

Is this the same handle as on the Next Generation Ranger? Could you compare the New LaGana VTAC to the Next Gen Ranger? These are the two 'hawks on my list. TIA

OK...in order....

1) We are completing our contractual obligations to the Army now.

Wow! The Army is actually issuing the tomahawk? I remember reading about the original being banned after short use in Vietnam. I guess they are finally waking up. A rifle/grenade/claymore/etc. does a whole lot more damage than a tomahawk can. I personally think a soldier/Marine should be able to carry whatever weapon he thinks will help keep his hide in one piece.

andy i just received my vietnam hawk from one stop knife shop while it looks great im not happy at all with the sharpness of it any help you can give me would be great THANKS

Mr. Prisco,

I see you've adopted the SF shooter's school logo with a slight modification. I actually prefer it to the orginal.

I have an older Lagana model with a wooden handle, and the Eagle sheath that is less than handy for attaching to my LBE. Does ATC sell the new Spec-Ops sheath and nylon handle alone so you can retro fit an older ATC hawk head?

Will the new VTAC fit the shoulder sheath offered by Survival Sheath Systems, does anybody know? I know Andy said the VTAC is a little smaller, but would this system still hold it well?
