gunna cook that in beer and mango i think

bbq chips on the side

mmm

MMMMMMMM PERCH!!! A guy I know batters them with spicy mustard and shore lunch and then fries them up. Squeeze a bit of lemon on em afterwards and they are mighty tasty. We get some big perch, I just looked and the lake record perch is 2lbs 15oz. Someone just caught a 4lb 10oz white bass to beat our lake record. http://www.wdaz.com/event/article/id/14203/

After lusting after 1066Vik's under-hammock gear sling (second hammock), trade turned me onto these. First place cancelled my order without me knowing it. Second place got 'em here.

turns out i'm cooking it in beer, sriracha, and lemon. mmm

ounce for ounce, this perch fought better than the trout twice its size, and nearly as good as a pickerel.

a 4 lb perch must fight like a demon :>

Oh and y'all better be thinking of your snark lines. I'm infracting the next person that says "I tried to be witty and I failed." :p :D

I love fishing and to reel in any fish is fun. I mostly fish for walleye around here, but perch can be a ton of fun if you can get on a school of them and start hooking them one after the other. The white bass here really put up a hell of a fight for their size and once you get into them you can catch them every cast for as long as the school sticks around. There used to be no limit on the white bass here when I was in high school. One night I brought 35-40 home and since then I have vowed to never bring home another one.

Guyon, that Dozier Hunter makes me drool every time I see it.

Edc, I'll hopefully know more soon.

snark o riffic

mmm, bones pull right out

never ate bass that i know of

have been craving pickerel and perch though. need to catch more, and bigger ones

I like that concept of a second hammock. What do these look like opened up?

Perch snark.

It's just a mesh (looks like netting) hammock, but you can store your gear up and off the ground. Keeps everything high and dry and under the tarp. Fewer bugs, snakes, scorpions crawling in your shoes/boots.

I think I saw a photo of someone's setup like that at the last gathering? Double hammock, that is. Also, in before the lock. ;)

I haven't even gotten a hammock and I know I like the idea. Keeping things dry is crucial here in Oregon in the rainy season. Which is almost year round.

Somebody go ahead and snark one up so I can sticky it. I need to go to bed. Going to be a long one tomorrow. I or Bladite can lock this one later.

He definitely does handles well. This one has been used hard and put away wet....literally. Got a good deal for it off the exchange and figured if I couldn't clean it up Andy could. Had some rust when it got here today, but a bit of elbow grease fixed that for the most part. Scales have been wet and the grain is sticking out. Thinking I'm going to sand it lightly and seal it up with something.

Thanks for the compliment, I usually don't even get that one from the ladies......:p

You might just try some tung oil and no sealant.
