Recommendation? It's That Time Again... Any Recommendations?

If you're really into the opening/closing of the AXIS lock, the Knifeworks exclusive 551-1702 Benchmade Griptilian is an excellent knife for an excellent price and well within your budget. More "classic" than "gentlemanly", the knife features black paper Micarta scales, open-back construction, M390 steel, and a thumb-stud opening design. The blade shape is still a typical BMK saber grind, but being broader the blade's primary grind is higher than the 943's and is a better cutter/slicer. The only downside is the knife is currently out-of-stock and if your itch is bad enough, you might scratch yourself raw waiting for the new lot to come in.

Also, for something 20 bucks over your budget, I see the Knifeworks exclusive Spyderco ParaMilitary 2 in Carbon Fiber and M4 steel is back in stock. That's a quite different knife than your 943, but a Spyderco classic for sure in excellent materials. Helluva cutter/slicer with that full flat ground M4 blade, too.

Awful tempting, even for a guy like myself who's trying to see if he can go a couple months without buying a knife. :(

That CF Bugout of yours isn't much help either, abbazaba abbazaba .

Edit: I just checked my PP account and it's been exactly two months. I could be in trouble here.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2. Very similar in size/ergos to the 943 IMO.

Benchmade Bugout with new scales. I don't think I'll ever carry my 940-1 after getting this one:

I can’t believe BM hasn’t released a version of the Bugout with CF scales yet. It always seemed the perfect knife for a set of CF scales to me. How much are you loving that knife?

I am so jealous.

Yeah, I really thought the 535-1 would be stock CF and 20cv or S90v... maybe someday.

The Bugout with CF scales is pretty awesome and a total game changer compared to stock IMO. It and my Pakkawood Delica have been my office carries every week for about 8 months now. The Ranger Green version and a set of Ti scales are in the mail right now ;)
