Hmmm.... I can't believe what I just did.
I have been drooling over this one for a few weeks. Lusting even!
I had the page bookmarked so I could look at it every day. Well... OK... several times a day.

Hey... it's my 60th birthday coming up at the end of the month.
There! That's my excuse!. A present to myself. Don't anybody dare argue with me :D ;)

Yup... I was imagining it with engraving and gold too!

But simple and clean lines is what caught my attention in the first place, so I've decided to leave her just as she is.

Cheers

Good on ya, you deserve it!
;)
That is a great canvas for some tasteful engraving.
Something to think about.
Happy (early) Birthday too!

That's a terrific birthday gift to give yourself.
What a good looking pocketknife!

Congrats, Rod. That IS special. Rare and very highly acclaimed.

I just did some photos tonight of a Busfield interframe for a private website. It's about as clean as I've ever come across.

You done good. Happy birthday to YOU! :D

You guys make me so proud to have it! And I haven't even got it yet :)

Thanks for the delicious comments :)

nothing like a fine slip riding in your front pocket!
a beauty from one of the best!

Very Nice!! I am moving away from my fixed blade obsession and into a multi-blade folder obsession, mainly Trappers and Muskrats with a few Stockmans thrown in for a change of pace.

The question I have is, "will you carry and use this little gem or is it just a collector?" Everything I have I use, but then again I do not have a lot of discressionary income for investing right now. I just wondered if you, or anyone else, uses their prize knives on a day-to-day basis?

Great choice, I bought myself a set of Ray Rogers customs for my birthday last year.

I will use it. :)

But perhaps I have a different "take" on these things than others. First I only buy custom knives that I would like to consider "users", (albeit some of them lightly - and I rotate them as EDCs) and second, with my 60th birthday looming up fast, I want to enjoy using them while I can. (For the next 34 years or so :D ).

Growing older may be mandatory, but growing up isn't.

Rod,
Suggest that if that folder doesn't come with a nice soft leather pouch, have one made for it, and enjoy carrying it. That is a beatifully done knife and there is almost something mystical about pretty black lip pearl with all the rainbow colors deep in the material. A knife to carry with pride!

Hello Rod

Super knife there-- Busfield's knives are hard to find.

In terms of engraving, I am sure you are aware of a excellent engraver not too far from you- I am, of course, referring to Mr. Simon Lytton. (Phone number 01442.255.542).

Also, as John Fraps pointed out, a nice pouch for this, and your other knives, is a great idea- Simon also works with a superb pouch maker called Den’s of England.

I have had many knives engraved by Simon and he always returns them to me in one of these beautiful pouches.

Take care, Neil

Oh Oh!
I think I wish that you hadn't mentioned that Neil. :)
I just had a browse around the net looking at examples. Pfhwooooar!

Its a great feeling isn't it! - good to see a fellow countryman with a passion for customs on these forums.
