I've decided I love paintball.

My favourite paintball moment was a few years back. It was in the forest and there was a small cabin and all.

I was on the opposing team and the other team had quite a few people holding up in the cabin. So we were moving carefully and playing tactical until almost the end of the game and i just got fed up. So i decided to kamikaze and just run towards the cabin. Shots were fired but by pure luck everyone of them missed me. When i arrived behind the cabin everyone of the enemy team was facing the other way and didn't even know i was behind them (i think they all thought i was shot). Anyway, i just unloaded my gun on everyone. Multiple shots per person. Damn that was satisfying shooting people in the back. They shot me but none of the paintballs burst on me.

After the game was finished, the marshalls announced asking who was it that shot those people. I thought i was going to be congratulated but instead they deducted points from my team for over aggresiveness. Now they tell us we're not supposed to shoot people multiple times. My team was still happy about it and congratulated me.

Here in malaysia paintball isn't that great. We have loads of forests but not a lot of the companies do it in the forest.

speed ball was my thing but now i dont care i just play for fun. Air ball is great, you can use the bunkers(if close enough) to bounce balls and get players in the back. I started doing that in a tourny and after the second guy walked off he told the reff and they called one for one(this means im out too). I got pissed and talked allot of shit because that wasnt in the rules and when i got taken out we lost. they were a much better team we had played before but i knew we had them that time, but they said I was cheating.

Tfin, what team do you play for?

Lots of great moments in p/ball. One of the best was when I switched from my CCI phantom, to a walmart special (pump talon, like $20) between rounds. Next round, one of my buddies (with decked automag RT pro) charged me, shooting about 7-8bps. I was behind a wooden bunker right, peeped out, almost got peppered, as he continued moving toward. Backed up, went left and low of the bunker, snapshot him in the neck, one shot at about 20ft (probably max accurate distance of the talon). He never lived that moment down.

Another time, in a last man 1 on 1, a friend and I were longballing for a few seconds. He stepped out, gave me the finger and a friendly "what have you," went behind the bunker, peeping out behind a slot. I one-shot him in the goggles, game over. Pumps rock.

I've played for Tippmann Effect, Detroit Fusion, Atomix, Enemy and a few other teams that play the NPPL/PSP in the past few years. Others as well, but those are the most well known teams.

Here's a picture of me from the NPPL Huntington Beach tournament two weeks ago:

In 1986 (87?) there was a paintball place here in Va Beach. I was on a "team" comprised of a bunch of drunks & knuckleheads that either worked in or patronized the late, lamented "Intermission" restaurant in Norfolk. We were known as the "I Team" & actually kicked the butts of more folks we ever thought possible. the weapons (markers?) were CO2 cartridge-powered, pump-action, single-shot dealies that held 10 balls & jammed pretty frequently. Our thing was tactics- we moven in a chevron-shaped formation w/ the point man acting as a gate hinge. We would engage & deliver cover fire as one flanking element would swing around and take them out. The fatal flaw in most of our opponents' strategies was to string their people out in 2's & 3's- the weapons weren't enough for them to deliver enough deterrent fire & we swallowed them up like jellybeans. We were usually full of cheap beer (the casualty zone was essentially a bunch of paint-marked guys sitting on coolers) & we had a blast. The most fun was when we were playing w/ about 15 people per team- at the end of the day (usually the last game) when everybody was pretty much played out & generally taking it easy, we would do a "Red China" tactic where when the whistle blew we all stormed the field screaming & overrunning positions- shooting as we went. Most of us 'got it' in the back as the smart ones ducked & picked us off as we ran past. Huge fun to see the expressions on the faces of the folks who'd never been swarmed before. :)

It does sound fun, though Ive never tried it before I will have to do so sometime.

I went one day with my church group. I always was leary of paintball. I have too many real guns including sub machine guns that are way to similar to the paintball guns to get used to pointing people and playing with. I know the trainng is not bad but muscle memory and mistakes are not good... anyhow one of my pastors asked me to go. I had a blast although the accuracy of the guns was lacking. If I had a gun as accurate as my ar it would not be an issue. I did manage to nail more than my fair share and really got a kick out of the fields. They were woods and fields- a really nice place actually. One of the fields had a higher fortified position that the other team held. We needed to go uphill and take the hill. I about single handedly took the hill. I littterally picked up my pallet barricade and carried it as a turtle would and took the fight to them. Everyone was laughing and shocked etc. "you can't do that" etc... "all is fair in love and war " I said. The field refs NEVER saw it before and had no rule against it. It was sevral big pallets and I just happened to be big enough to pull it off... it was a hoot! The only bad thing I had happen was when the gun was disabled or empty we were to holdthe gun straight up and it was to signal NO SHOOT and I am out of play. On the blow up barricade field of frenzy I held the gun up and was walking off the field and someone nailed me in the back of my neck after I was out for long enough that they had to have seen that I was . I felt someone did it on purpose and am glad I did not know for sure who it was for sure. I had not been that mad in a loooooong time and I may have hurt them. It hurt and was not called for !
