I hear a lot about the BK11 and the BK2(my next Becker purchase) but very rarely do I here about the eskabar. Right now it is my only Becker knife and I love it! Probably one of the best little neck knives Ive seen.

So my question is since Esse and Becker went together on this one do you guy still consider it a part of the Becker family or is it the "red headed step child"? (no offense to red heads)

The handle is more comfortable raw dog on the bk14. I just want my beers open....

I think you will find that it is as loved as the all the other Becker knives are. Its on my list of knives to get, thats for sure!!

Glad to hear it's a loved family member!

And @wildcat Go for it man! My eskabar has been on every camping trip I've been on since I bought it and it performs wonderfully!

The guys who have 11's all wish they had 14's, trust me, I'm from the internet.

LOL again glad to hear it, and don't worry I believe everything i read on the internet

;)

The 14 is just a better knife for me, I don't have those little girly hands and need a bigger handle. Don't need a knife to open a beer with either.

Excellent ! It's definitely not an outcast man, this blade will pull it's weight and then some. I am not a neck knife kinda guy, but the Esky is part of my daily kit. You have one, so you know. I like all the Beckers, except for maybe one, but they're all part of the family. I'm not so worried about the bottle opener aspect. If you're a pro you can open a brew with almost anything. Seriously though, either way you'll do well with either.

Had both in my hand this weekend........ broke down and bought the 11........ just to open my imports... lol

I have both, but I use my BK14 more than any other knife I own.

Its a great knife, and no outcast here.

My BK14 is my EDC blade...I like the flat sheath because I carry it in my back pocket right between the ol right cheek and wallet.

I find the 14 to be a more comfortable grip than the 11, although I like them both. I'd like the 14 even more if it had a variant of the Eskabar II handle, i.e. 1/2" longer.

people hate it so much, they buy them 2-3 at a time :)

people REALLY like it.

so much so that there are multiple after market handle grip makers and designs... and good lord, the accessories :)

yeah. that :>

Yeah, everyone loves the Eskabar. It was my first Becker, and I absolutely love it. It goes with me every day. I didn't get the 11 because I'm not a three-finger man, and real men open their beers with their eyesocket. :)

Seriously though, it was mainly because of the size. The 11 is smaller and I wanted something that fit perfect in my grip.

Like the 14 better, it opens the brews up just fine and with the longer handle.

I carry the 14 every day. It sees a lot of use, some of it rough.
