I was skeptical about the frog on the Barker sheath, but am growing to like it's flexibility. Just stuff it my belt for short hikes like this afternoon/evening. Lift it out by the sheath for use - seems simple and effective enough.

However, I am wondering about whether or not I should get new set of leather pants for longer hikes/backpacking. Note it rides in my pack for now, but let me know of your experiences with frog sheaths (good and bad)

And, if you have any suggestions for a type of sheath you like for large chopper - I'm all ears. I prefer leather, but let's see 'em if they work well. Cheers :)

Brians,

Man I like those knives... I have a Khuk and a Fisk OVB that have frogs, I like em just fine. The sheath that I never cared for was the Barkie Rogue bowie with that pin, it might be traditional, but sometimes progress really is progress

I love mine as well, but it is packed up somewhere while my house is being worked on. Most of my big knives are packed away right now.

I got mine from AG Russell at he fantastic price. Money well spent.

I carry my Rogue with just the frog under my belt and I love it.

My only problem is that the sheath normally comes with the knife when I draw it.

I plan on making another sheath for it with two studs. One above and one below the belt.

Now that sounds like a creative solution. Design time. Please post when you have a design or prototype prepared. :)

Brians,

Is that an original Barker? I got the prototype (nevermade) in the Camillus auction and have no idea of it's value.

thanks,

A. G.

Mine harkens from AG Russell of all places. Delivered just before Christmas and has been extensively used making ground blinds during the end of deer season. Fantastic blade. Just finished it up on the sharpmaker ultra-fine rods and it shaves like you wouldn't believe.
