The problem with internet forums is you get all worked up about buying whatever the thread of the day is talking about. That means you end up with way more stuff than you will likely ever use.
I mean, how many firesteels, tinder, knives, paracord, duct tape, wire, tarps, ponchos, tents, garbage bags, etc., etc. do we really need?
Well, in my case, apparently all of it otherwise how could I keep assembling new kits full of the above?
Today, as I was rummaging around the *camping* closet noticing all the leftover duplicate stuff on the shelves, I saw an old Dole fanny pack peeking out from the corner. A Ha! says I and started gathering stuff to stick in it. You know, just in case...
Tossed in the the trunk of the sports car (where a little belt kit already resides). You know, just in case...
Please tell me I'm not alone in this madness!
