I've just seen the coolest "Pistol" of all time

Since the sawed off rifle shoots cartridges that a revolver can shoot, why not just get a revolver? I'll admit, the Wanted Dead or Alive "pistol" looks cool, but I just can't see it doing anything a good long barrel revolver couldn't do in a more compact package.

Cool and fun factor for sure. I’d go for a 6” pre-lock S&W Model 29 first for sure. Mmmm, sexy.

Dealers are saying they will be available in Nov/Dec. Some are taking orders now. The dealer prices are around $400.00. Alot cheaper than JB Customs or Puma (Legacy Arms). Gunblast.com has done a review on YouTube of the Puma Bounty Hunter and the also is a video of JB Custom's Mare's Leg on YouTube as well.

I've had my JB Custom in .45 Colt for a while.............. big fun factor!! ;)

what about the revolver rifle they came out with this year as well...Rossi/taurus

I've had a black powder version of the revolver carbine (not by Taurus, I think it's a Pedersoli) for a number of years. The problem with a revolver carbine is that if you grip the fore-end (which you must) your forearm/wrist is in front of the cylinder gap. You don't think much about gas leak at the cylinder gap until you put part of your anatomy in the way of it! (A heavy long sleeve shirt helps.)

(If you think gass leakage from a tight fitting cylinder gap isn't a problem, take a look at the Mythbusters episode on thuimb amputation by pistol...)

Those revolving rifles and carbines have been around for quite a while, the colt model 1855 is fairly well known, mostly for its bad design.

Always thought those shortened lever guns would be great for backpacking in some areas. Nice price on the new ones

I know ruger's revolving magazine rifles are known to be superb... seems like a pretty good design to me...

i'm sure they are now. I only mentioned the colt because it was one of the earliest repeating rifle designs, thought it was interesting that they are still made.

eew...i'll pass :barf: jake, if it weren't for your dd rifle i'd say you have bad taste in firearms. haha. i'll take this post/handgun choice as a momentary lapse in good judgement.

If you look closely at the image of that gun, you can see there's some sort of shroud around the cylinder gap. Presumably as a fix to the problem you've mentioned. I wondered about the same thing myself. Who knows how well the shroud works- looks pretty Chuck-E-Cheese to me.

Tastes in guns are really different. It's not an old saying but it can certainly be used - If you don't like it, you can always throw rocks

I recently got a KelTec Sub 2000. It shoots my Glock mags....one round to carry/buy/practice with..., interchangeable mags between my pistol and rifle...

ok, I know it's not an AR...but it folds in half (17"!) and fits inside the hydro pouch pocket of my RUSH 24...

The OP gun - the "new" mare's leg...is cool because it's legal. You may have to carry the paper around with you to be safe...but it's not "cut down". Still, I like the way I went. :)

The originals were actually fired b y choking up both hands on the pistol grip. If you notice, a lot of them (the originals) did not have forends.

They add a little more stability for longer range shots than a pistol, but fall well short of a rifle.

That's how hold mine when I shoot it (ever since the first time that I didn't), and I agree 100% on the accuracy. But it IS fun to shoot.

we have two guns like these they are a .32 winchester special. very short, but a very useful bush gun. our shortest gun is 30" and the other is about 36". wikked gun. not for big game though, got chased by a black bear because it only spooked him

This may be old news to some of yall, I think this has been around the firearm community for a couple months by now and I had heard about it but never saw pictures til tonight. Holy crap.

It's the Rossi M92 Ranch Hand. 12in barrel, 24in overall, 6 shots .357/.38, .44 mag, 45 colt.

It's legal because it meets the ATFs qualifications for a pistol rather than a rifle (havent really read all the legal stuff so I dont really know how that is)

Anyway it is seriously cool, and its msrp is around $530 so it wont be expensive. I could definitely see this as a truck gun or even some sort of survival type rifle (for something bigger than squirrels)

More info is here: http://www.americanrifleman.org/ArticlePage.aspx?id=2447&cid=1

I heard someone say it wont be out til October/Nov. 2010. I should start saving (even though my AR isnt done yet).

What do yall think?

I dont think thats legal in CA right? lol....:p:rolleyes:
