I've literally used this $13 Trapper since the day it arrived....

i wonder if we'll ever see the day when you can buy a $13 trapper like the rr but made in the US.
nah.....

We won't be able to buy a US made trapper at any price if we keep bargain shopping offshore. The positive to that is that my US made accumulation will appreciate 1000% on the collectors market.

The world is pretty global these days. Japan branded cars are made in the us. Us branded cars made in Mexico and Korea. That said and back onto knives I'm seeing plenty of sweet schrade and bucks, keen kutter and other old us brands for sale at pretty good deals! I'm trying to not go into hoarder collector mode right now really hard. And start getting a bunch of stuff that owns me. But those buck 303s and 309s keep calling to me!

Political speeches belong in another forum.
In this forum, we only talk about knives.

Well, if bemoaning the potential loss of American made traditionals is political I won't do that any more. Have a nice day and GO BRONCOS

We just talk about traditional knives in this forum.
Sometimes we talk about how they are used, how they are made, how they were made, how they are repaired, or how they are gussied up.
But it's all about knives.
There are other forums at BF for other topics.

My prior post was actually in response to a post I moved elsewhere. I let yours go because it had not quite crossed the line into politics, though it came pretty darn close.

My experience with RR knives: got quite a lot of them, say 15-20, maybe 2 have been rather bad in F&F, gaps etc or cracked bone. Most perfectly OK, 4 or 5 are really nicely made and I actually prize them. As for the steel, all of them have arrived extremely sharp and all have performed excellently. I have no complaints on them in that direction. Isn't cutting what it's (mainly) about? :D
