I spent several years building up a nice little knife collection only to trade and sell off just about everything to rekindle my interest in guns (1911's mostly) Here it is months since my last post and I find myself feeling the need to start rebuilding a once great knife collection. I now have several nice pistols but very few knives. Reading over the last few months worth of posts, it seems that there is much to catch up on.

any of you guys ever tear your collections down to rebuild them or finance other interests only to find that you're back looking for more knives after a few months?

Regards,

Not Exactly!!! But I regret every gun and knife I ever got rid of for any reason!!! But I love 1911s, you could have done alot worse! My advise is to keep the 45's and slowly build up your knives again! Don't make the same mistake twice!!
Good Luck!!!!

BTW the 1911 is my all time favorite. Go to the range a few times; it will ease the pain.

The thing (among other things) that I enjoy about collecting is that my collection is always pretty much in a state of flux- I rarely get rid of a knife outright & I've traded a couple & given some as gifts that twinged a bit, but that's what makes it interesting. If you had all of the money in the world to buy every knife ever made all at once, that wouldn't be very much fun after the initial kick. It's the hunt & not always the kill & the "ones that got away" are waiting somewhere on some table at some knife/gun show, or on line or at some garage sale for you to find them again. Just my $0.02.
