I've owned a Busse for one day and I'll never buy another kind of fixed blade.

Big guns, big knives,

Sounds eerily familiar.

Nice RMD!

I keep kicking myself for selling mine. Can't get it back for the same price. :grumpy:

Even I can feel your wallet aching. :D

I'd say run... but it's too late. ;)

Congrats on one of the BEST Busse knives out there.

.

I would also pile on here and say that the CG ASH1 is definitely a knife that you hold and say "this thing is indestructible".

Its funny, cause I think the same thing about my Skinny (after using it) and the ASH 1 is almost twice as thick!

I took it out today, batoned some firewood for the wood stove (it freaking snowed today!) and chopped up a bunch of wood. Even did a little throwing for the hell of it. I'll tell you, the knife just laughed at me. The factory edge leaves a lot to be desired, so I convexed it and stropped with a .5 micron compound. It's hair splitting and chops MUCH better. I didn't really thin out the edge much though, just needed a little reprofile and some polishing. Does busse combat always sharpen their blades on the pavement? ;) The factory edge aside, which honestly doesn't bother me since I've been convexing all my knives, I totally understand why all you HOGS are like a cult, i'm already planning my next 20 purchases!

The Dr. says ... this is a very bad case of INFIdiction.:(

There is no hope for this young man.:(:(

The ranks of the addicted have swelled by one. Jerry can now afford another case of JWB.:)

I had to do it.. After convexing/polishing, I took it outside and bashed away at a cinder block again.. just making sure my edge wasn't too thin. Not a single nick in the blade. Chopped some kindling for the wood stove and batoned it, and then it still push cut paper. I'm seriously sold. Finally my quest for a brand of knives I can't destroy has been fulfilled.. There goes my wallet.

the edge angles on my CGASH1 were indeed thick. I convexed it as well. Makes a big difference.

I think their angles differ. On some they are more acute on others not as great.

They tend to be tougher and thicker by design. Hand convexing is not too bad with most knives, but when you do it with a really heavy beast like the FBMLE your arm sure gets tired.

Not many do an edge check on "cinder block"....that's unusual...but cool...

Trial and error, this time no error. I convexed the edge and wanted to make sure it was a suitable angle for hard use. Chopping at cement isn't a hobby of mine but it's nice to know your knife can take it if you accidently whack some concrete while chopping etc..

Its all your fault.

I figured.

;)

You're now the third person to blame ME for this addiction.

But they are awesome knives, aren't they? Worth every penny.

I figure if I keep bringing converts, eventually someday I'll be a hog, myself!

I've got one Busse, for one day and I've been trying to sell them on the different forums like a traveling salesman. I brought mine to work, and a guy I work with is going to order a tankbuster, and this is a guy who is cheaper than anyone I know. I'd love to just hit the road selling Busses. Worth every penny for sure.
