Hi Guys,

I've been on-line researching ivory sellers. There's quite a few, and there seems to be a wide range of prices as well. But, some of them don't list phone numbers, just an email contact. This makes me shy away.

I wonder if you guys can tell me where you buy your ivory? I'm familiar with the normal supply houses, just wondering if you may have other, reliable and honest sources who provide a good product at a fair price.

Thanks,

Dave

I've bought a fair amount of really fine antique elephant ivory scales and inlay pieces from Warther Carving Museum - http://www.ivorybuyer.com/sales/ - though I'm not seeing them on their site at the moment. Their prices *were* quite reasonable -- but I haven't bought any for a couple of years now. Also from Boone Trading Company - http://www.boonetrading.com/ -- good stuff, no problems - again, haven't bought any for a couple of years now, so YMMV.

Most of my mammoth ivory I've gotten from Charles Turnage: http://www.fineturnage.com/knife_handle_scales.php or from Chuck - "akivory" here on the forums (though at that time I got it from him off the bay) -- both have great stuff.
