Beautiful knife, Todd. If I did not live in the Arizona desert, I would snag that ivory-handled beauty in half a heartbeat. Whoever does get it will be one supremely happy camper.

Todd, is Mammoth ivory stable with temperature & humidity changes ?
Is it more or less durable than elephant ivory for things like chipping or cracking if dropped ?
At first look, i thought this one had elephant ivory. Very appealing knife !
thanks, roland

Roland,

I think it is more durable than elephant ivory. How much? I couldn't say?
When I pinned this knife I could really hit it, on elephant ivory I couldn't hit it as hard.
Also this stuff has been buried for about 10,000 years or so...... and lasted.

But in the end -it is ivory and any thing could happen?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Todd
