I had a request to fabricate a scale for an Umnumzaan with a material I haven't used yet: Ivory colored G-10. I hope you'll agree, the knife is very classy looking, even elegant! Satin finish on the handle with the factory bead blast. Very nice contrast. I'll try to get some more photos in the sun, before I send the knife back.

For now, here are a few shop shots:

Thanks Barry, that looks fantastic! Can't wait to get my classed up Umnum back!

There you go! The outside pics probably show the true color better

That's just the look I was going for, thanks man :D

Awsome Work Barry H............Now I have to go out and look for another Umnumzaan so you can make me one !!! This one is definately one of your best. Very Unique.

After seeing your first set of pictures I was unsure if I liked it...but after seeing the new pictures with some natural light, I have to say that it's gives a nice contrast to the titanium :).

Wow, that's the most awesome scale I have seen on an ummie ever.

If you ask me, a lot better than the original.
But that's me :)

How do you think the bladestop will work with the handle in g10?

Just fine;)

:D

I've done several scales since this knife has been released, with no issues. The mechanics of the blade stop is really no different than the Strider SnG or the SMF blade stop. And the Strider products are designed with G-10 on the fixed handle.

I like it a lot!
Do you think the g10 will get dirty easy/often with the ivory color being so light?
Guess depends on how/where you use your knife.

Personally, it wouldn't be my first choice, as I am a carpenter by day and my hands can get pretty dirty sometimes, and I conservatively use my sebenza 12-24 times a day.

In my experience, G-10 doesn't really absorb dirt. It gets dirty like any scale but can be washed off easily.

clean as hell barry!! love it.

and even if g10 somehow got dirty (doubt it) just take some 320 grit paper and resand the whole thing.

For some reason your knife with that cool scale makes me think of this 64 Thunderbird
Great Work
