Ivory with pins

Well I just finished pinning my first ivory handle frame with 1/16 pins. I don't think I have ever been so nervous and apprehensive about a procedure. With every tap of the hammer I just knew I was going to see or hear a crack appear in the ivory. This frame and bolster are 416 ss with nickel silver liners that have been gold plated. This handle is going on a explosion pattern Damascus dagger, I should have pics in a day or two.

I am right know enjoying the first of a few celebratory beers, my nerves can't take days like this.

I hear ya Bro! I've cracked a few myself. Did you taper the holes? I bought a 2 deg. taper and dont worry anymore.

Cant wait to see the dagger. Is it the MS Dagger?

Yes I did taper the holes, I used I diamond coated taper out of rio grande. Plus I used .999 silver wire(Ron Newton trick). Where did you get your taper? No it's not my MS dagger I just like the look of a properly ground dagger, not that I'm there yet but gettin close.
