Interesting carry idea.
However, I wouldn't sleep with it around my neck, you never know what might go wrong in the night. But at the same time, I don't keep anything sharp and pointy or loud and shooty near my bed when I'm sleeping.
I slept with it on me as a test. If SHTF are you going to take all your gear off when you are dog tired and need to sleep? I dont think so. I appreciate the concern, i took a risk for the sake of giving you all a review.
the sheath on the izula works..it didnt come out and cut me. With the paracord under my arm and around my shoulder there is a very very small chance it could choke me out during the night.
again, it was just a little risk i took for the sake of the test, and again i appreciate your concern. " kids, dont try this at home"

I was just wondering-- working in a mine, what drives the need to carry a weapon 24/7 at the ready?
I may have missed something in the original post but I'm a little lost on this.![]()

I was carrying it for utility purposes. I cut a lot of things at work. Rope etc. I don't remember saying I was working in a mine and the Izula isn't a weapon. Its a cutting tool, although it could be utilized as a weapon no doubt. I didn't see it any different than carrying my leatherman to work. I surely didn't mean to offend or concern anyone. Heck, the ammount of hell you could raise with a large flatblade screwdriver would suprise you, and they are available on any work site.
Again, it was just a review.
You're welcome just trying to help. I think he said that he wore it everywhere but the shower, but I could be wrong. The 24/7 carry was a test to see if it would be too uncomfortable or to ungainly to facilitate it incase of a SHTF/GHOK/TEOTWAWKI situation.Ok, before I get thrown down for asking my question, I wasn't yanking anyone's chain. I was only curious about the necessity to carry it at all times, even in the shower.
I am all for having a knife with you, it just seemed peculiar to me the mode or method of carry and I didn't understand what type of work he was doing to require a tool to be on you 24/7.
And you did refer to "concealed carry" which gave me the impression of a weapon, not a tool.
I was mistaken with what a coal fired powerplant was, in that I apologize.
Shelbyguns was spot on in reference to my question and it is what I expect to see....I guess I just didn't ask the question correctly.
No problem! And to the OP my ? in post #34 still stands unanswered. Just don't want you to forget about it! Thanks!Yes, brother, thanks. I get it.
