Izula and ESEE-4 in 440C Realese Date?

I will probably still buy one because I love my 1095 Izula, but I just bought a BK24 to hold me over. So far so good with the D2 here on the wet coast.

D2 holds up fairly well on the Coast from what I've found. I imagine if you're fishing or boating on the ocean that'd be different but anything inland seems to be decent with just basic maintenance, not even oiling.

Would be nice to get some official word or update.

I gave up long ago. "official word" wouldn't make me feel any more confident that I was gonna be able to pick up a stainless Izula or the folder anytime soon.

I got an email this morning from KnifeWorks and the new SS Izulas are due to be shipped next week (9th or 10th). They will be stamped "1st Production Run" and are limited to 500 blades. I just ordered mine!!!!!!

I don't get why would you need rust prone 1095 over corrosion resistant 440C...??

As you can see, your statement can be flipped based on what you're looking for in a knife and both are equally as valid depending on the case.

Man, there aint nothing wrong with well done (heat treated) 440c. Its not the "latest" or most "exotic" steel buts it awesome stuff still. I'm a knifemaker/user and love love 440c. I know alot of guys are diggin the S30V, Elmax and newer steels and those are great metals too but nothing wrong with 440c
