I'm liking the new EsKaBar, nice size.

Unfortunately, the handle profile is SLIGHTLY different and the Izula handle scales won't fit without slight modification.

Sweet little blade.

Enjoy!

Any info on where they are going to be made or what steel? Kind of sheath?

Looks really nice:thumbup:

These are questions for the folks at KaBar but....... Made in the same place as all the Becker knives, 1095 for the steel and they fit right into the standard Becker Necker sheath. I assume with some sort of special logo.

Now, if they were made by Rowan, and had an ESEE designed sheath....

Good looking, but I'll stick with Izulas and Wardens for now. Of course, that is subject to change.

The handle isn't bigger? I guess i shouldn't have assumed there would be another 1/4" or so there.

Guess theres no need to order a replacement to the izula then :(

The Eskabar looks neat ! I have an Izula and the Becker with the handle notch. I'll stick with those for my Neckers. I somehow like the Izulas smaller size. I don't want it any bigger.

On the contrary, I like Kabar's 1095 CroVan better-to me, it seems easier to get a really crazy sharp edge going, and it stays that way longer. That said, ESEE's unparalleled quality control and precise manufacturing would be ideal when combined with Kabar's steel. I like my BK11 as it is, but may have to snag on of these down the line.

I think it looks great. I can't wait to get one when they are released. I think the smoother handle shape of the Izula is superior and more accommodating for different hand shapes/sizes, and I like the bigger blade of the BK11. Looks like a match made in heaven.

Thats a nice knife..but is isnt a purebread ESEE.

True, but we love Ethan and Ka-Bar. They have been good friends of the company for a long time and make a hell of a product in the Becker line.

Ethan is a truly great guy and I'm proud to call him a friend. Same goes for Paul (screen name tooj), lead engineer for Ka-Bar. Both are class acts all the way.

Since you bravely stuck your neck out, I will too. :D

I also prefer both knives in their original form. If the BK was getting a new handle, I'd have liked it to also be a little longer. As is, I can hold the handle just fine, and I've got a bottle opener (until I buy a HEST). I LOVE the little Izula's proportions. It leaves me happy, and not wanting.

There, that wasn't so bad.

Is that the final model or pre-production? I'm wondering if the final version will have jimping.
