izula & bk13 micarta scales dyed with black rit fabric dye.

I've been getting the best micarta mod results (longest lasting and deepest color) from the FEIBING'S USMC Black Leather Dye from Tandy Leather. $2.99 a bottle.
a couple of coats with a quick buff after each with an old t-shirt and it lasts almost forever. Getting the knives wet for extended periods of time hasn't really bothered the color any.
I always figured that if it was good enough for leather then it had to be even better on canvas. The RIT always seemed to wash out/fade after a while and bleed onto the hands when it stays wet for a bit.
Just my 2.

The knives look awesome BTW. Black scales, even on a green coated blade look hot.
Very nice.

I'm probably the one that gives you the most crap about the Sharpie scales, but I really like how those turned out with the Rit. Looks good man! Let us know how the wear, etc goes. Go soak em in some water and see what happens. :D

it's all good  i'm waiting on shotgunner's izula sheath so i can mount it on my life vest. i'm a newbie kayaker so sooner or later i'll take a dunk in the lake and will report back :D
