Izula explosives cutter

Maybe I'm a pussy but being "deployed" is not something I would look forward to. Not that I don't respect the guys that are but I sorta like the farm here, my family, friends, etc.

Being away from the fam is the only part that sucks. Other than that, I love being deployed - everything that's good about the job and none of the BS.

MarineAir congrats on the solo. Big day and a lot of fun, even if the first one is just a pattern solo. Either of your choices will be good. The C-130 is still mostly late 50's tech with a smattering of mid 90's avionics nowadays. It's a pilot's plane and you'll get to go more places and do more and different stuff in a C-130 than anything else.

I just ordered my Izula last night. Got tired of reading all the great reviews and decided to find out for myself. It was a choice between that and the BK14. I wanted a little smaller knife, so I actually bought an Izula 1. I think it's my third knife purchase in about a week (curse you bladeforums!). I just wish USPS and the mil mail system were a little faster. Okay, so that's another not so great thing about deployments. I wonder if the Izula will fit in my leg pocket...

Partisian1911,

That's awesome man, I spent 3 years 11b before I went EOD..... I can't say that I miss it, but it had it's moments. Its funny that you mention the old plenty plus more motto, because before I knew any better that was my motto. I don't know if I understood your post, are coming back to AD? Or working another gov job?

I am active duty right now but currently taking a one year vacation to go to college full time. It took a little paperwork but it is working out ok now. Living the civilian life sure makes me look forward to retirement.
