I would like to see a 1/4 Izula model. Same conservative distal taper. Same carry method, same blade pattern same handle, just a thicker chunk of plam size steel.

Please. I like the Scapel feel (it really does feel like a good hand scapel for those of you who don't have one), but would like to see it reinforced with a bit more steel on the non cutting surface areas.

Can we please have a second Izula option?

I seriously doubt you will see that in the future. Would require new tooling to produce the knife and the sheath.

I have one of the Izula prototypes in 3/16 (I believe). Cool little blade, stout as hell but frankly, not much of a cutter.

At 1/4", you might as well go get yourself a Stanley wonderbar, it'll cut about as good and cost a 10th the price.

Not sure if it is something you would be in trouble with copyright and such but you might be able to contact great lakes waterjet and see if they can cut you up a 1/4 " copy and then have someone grind that up and heat treat it for you. Just a thought...

I guess I should have called the thread, If I had one thing I could change about my IZULA I would......

Scotamanspride : If I were to concider that action it would be done in mass for profit, and rights would be requested and paid for if given by RAT cutlery. And since that sounds like alot of trouble, and since the market seems to think it would be as useful as a Stanley Wonder-bar, I dont forsee myself persuing that course of action

Not to long ago I came into possession of a custom Ranger EDC. All in all it was probably about the same length as the Izula but it had handles on it. It was 1/4" steel and, yes, very stout. But I ended up passing it on because it was just too thick to be a very useful cutting tool. I'm all about big thick choppers but in an EDC sized blade I think 1/4" is bit more of a bother than a blessing.

If you end up getting something like that made, though, I'd love to see some pictures :)

I appreciate the thought, but i will not copy another companies design. The Izula rocks just like it is.

Wished all businesses were this honorable! Appreciate the post and the attitude.

There's not a knife that RAT makes that I wouldn't be proud to have and I make custom knives myself. Keep up the good work down there. See ya at Blade next year! :D

Well I didn't expect all the negetive responces.

I'm not saying that the Izula isn't as is an entirely practical knife, just that If i wanted to change one thing I would like to see an 1/4" model. You can't tell me you would'nt feel alot more comfortable with an 1/4" Izula than you would a skinnier one if you really were stuck in the sticks by yourself. What would the 1/4 stop you from doing, "whittlin' balls and sticks?? in cages? on your front porch? that isn't what i was envisioning old girl for.
