Izula idea #2, not an aftermarket idea.

Well I didn't expect all the negetive responces.

I'm not saying that the Izula isn't as is an entirely practical knife, just that If i wanted to change one thing I would like to see an 1/4" model. You can't tell me you would'nt feel alot more comfortable with an 1/4" Izula than you would a skinnier one if you really were stuck in the sticks by yourself. What would the 1/4 stop you from doing, "whittlin' balls and sticks?? in cages? on your front porch? that isn't what i was envisioning old girl for.

If you want a 1/4" palmed sized knife get a Busse Game Warden I think they even make a 5/16" version.

I would hate to see the izula any thicker than it is, it's a utility knife for camping, not a survival knife for a be all end all, I believe that is where the RC-5 comes in 1/4" half hollow I believe, tough as nails I'm sure.

It became abundantly clear very shortly after posting this, that i would have to go elsewhere for this size knife.

It would appear that you and RAT cutlery are in complete disagreement on that point.

This knife is designed to be the perfect lightweight survival kit....

This is funny to me. I am one of those who wanted the RC-5 in flat gound 3/16" thick stock. Those AF SERE guys must be prying rocks or something to need that knife 1/4" thick with a saber grind. But I have an RC-5 on order. :D

I have one of the Izula prototypes in 3/16 (I believe). Cool little blade, stout as hell but frankly, not much of a cutter.

At 1/4", you might as well go get yourself a Stanley wonderbar, it'll cut about as good and cost a 10th the price.

Listen to Shotgunner, if he gave bad advice, he wouldn't be nearly as popular. :p

What ARE you envisioning for her? Batoning? Might not be whittling on the porch, but you might be cutting cordage, dressing game, using flints, carving trap triggers, and making fuzz sticks.

Anywho, g'luck with your endeavor.

you could get some bondo and stick two regular izulas together.

if you dont pound the two blade ends together, you'll end up with a double bladed knife... wait... whoa, let me go try something.
