Izula II sheath restraints

I've been wondering ever since I received my Izula, how well the small rised plastic molded restraints in the sheath hold up long term. Been using mine for about 3 months now and I can tell they are both wearing down a bit. Since this is primarily my neck knife it is a bit of a concern seeing how you wouldn't really want the knife to eventually fall out. That could be an accident wainting to happen. Or even worse yet...... losing my prized bush knife. Does anyone have any long term use with this sheath system? If so, how does it fair? If not... any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any feedback. Look foward to seeing what you guys have to say.

Thanks for the info. How did it carry for you on the belt? Been skeptical of getting a belt sheath because I just don't think its enough knife for a belt.

This is an older post of mine, but its all the same: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/718763-Are-neck-knives-safe?p=7911685#post7911685

I basically use two pieces of paracord. One for strapping to my belt and one for neck carry. When using the larger cord for neck carry, the cord for belt carry can be used to retain the knife more securely.

FYI- I have never had a problem with the plastic sheath all by itself, but I figured a little extra security is nice if your tromping through some thick bush.

I have been yanking my izzy out of it's sheath multiple times a day for the last 8 months.

It hasn't loosened at all. Not in the least bit. I think the plastic sheaths are good to go.

i used my factory sheath for about 5 months and it didnt loosen up. even if something were to go wrong i bet ESEE would take care of you.

I think you guys are right..... it just doesn't SEEM like it would last if you know what I mean..... I've been abusing mine for about 4 months now. Definitely see wear, but can't tell if theres any less restraint. More less wondering if anyone else has seen heard or had a problem with it. Tell you what though.... its one hell of a neck knife that's for sure!

My Izula sheath has been holding up great to 6+ months of every day use. Should it quit doing it's job, a new sheath is only $15, or a custom kydex sheath can be had for ~$20 depending on color.

It's actually an excellent choice for a belt if you want it to stay concealed because both the original plastic and the leather sheaths ride high enough to be unseen under a t-shirt or sweatshirt. I use both sheaths for mine as well as an Allegheny pocket sheath for cargo pockets. My OEM sheath has several months' use on it with no noticeable change in retention of the knife.

I've had my Izula since they came out and haven't had any sheath retention issues whatsoever. It does "break in" after a while, but it stays VERY secure. I can still shake mine as forcefully as possible and it won't pop out.

Awesome! Thank you for your reply.
Thanks to EVERYONE for their input.
