Izula: Knife only or Full Kit?

To me the full kit is well worth the extra cash. You will easily find a place to mount the whistle/cord lock even if you don't mount it on the knife. The Molle-lok is a great if you want to attach the knife to a pack (like maxpedition or similar). The fire starter is just too slick to pass up. And that is just some of the goodies.

Get the full kit and the handles scales. Go big or go home.
 
I got the full kit, but only because KSF was sold out of the knife only at the time. IMO $15 extra for the kit is not worth it at all, especially if you don't want the Molle lock.
 
When i got my rat fire or esee fire striker it came with a compass in the compass in the handle of it, but that was before the name switch so it might be different now.
 
spend the extra on the scales. you cant beat the knife. and then start deciding on which color your next one is going to be.
 
Thanks for the info on the fire kit. I've been eyeballing one for awhile.
 
I didn't get the kit - but I got most of the stuff in the kit anyway.
But I have to agree, the knife itself handles well, then get's comfortable with paracord wrapping, and still the handle slabs make a difference.
 
I got the kit. That way I would not be 2nd guessing what I bought & it had more goodies like the whistle.
