Izula or HEST

I would recommend the Izula for a necker knife. Either one makes a great every day carry knife.
 
Well I've pulled the trigger on the izula but it will not arrive until Monday according to UPS. I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering the HEST in the next week or so. To be honest I like all of their knives but I'm just not sure which order to purchase them. Thanks for all the help everyone!
 
the DPx H•E•S•T was never designed as a neck knife (depends on the size of your neck I suppose?) but the H•E•S•T is a constant carry, legal length blade for concealed or at hand "tool" (aka "weapon") when or if needed.

You would not want to use an Izula for a midnight grapple and I don't think you would want to bash it with a hammer but its a great small utility blade. The H•E•S•T has a big meaty grip, a lot of steel and even a hollow fist-hold combined with the back end of "prybar" so you won't lose your grip when it gets sticky or sweaty. The H•E•S•T is also 4.5 oz because its meaty, the Izula is only 2 oz and a lot shorter and thinner.

So once again its impossible to directly compare the two since they are two very different designs with dramatically different ergonomics and intended functions. You wouldn't use a Mac truck to do what a Mazda Miata does?

I have both the HEST and the Izula, and have to say... man.. they're both awesome knives.... that said, the Izula makes a MUCH better neck knife. The HEST is just a tad too big and too thick for a necker.

I love the HEST for discreet carry tho. It's got a very comfortable handle, and a good sized blade. But all that little extra just adds up to a little too much for a neck knife.
 
I've got an izula i've been using for EDC. Tried the neck carry and didn't care for it, I now have 2 HEST's on the way and one will be my primary EDC blade.
 
Like I said the Izula is a great finger knife. But if you need a DPx H•E•S•T in a hurry, your neck is the last place you want to carry it. It's designed to be palmed and when it stings, it feels like a....

Thanks RYP. You should get a commision from the guys at Rat/ESEE because you just sold me on the HEST. I now know what my next purchase will be.
 
Could someone post a pic, or point me to a pic of the sheath that is included with the hest?

Koda: I second the waiting game...I hate waiting. I am impatient lol. I waited and waited for mine, Gundude, Eon, and etc in chat box, all withnessed my on edge behavior. I wanted mine so badly, waited days. lol. Found out that it was delivered to my neighbor because delivery guy thought I wasn't home, and my neighbor sometimes signs for my stuff, that and he than had to leave that night for Denver for family emergency. I cried myself to sleep that first night I had my izzie...I was scared that even dust in the air would hurt it. That was until the next day when I was using it to cut the strap binding on a pallete for a crate engine I ordered. My dad was like that warranty of theirs will come in handy! I laughed, "Haha, I'll never use its warranty, cause it has no manufacturer defects!" lol! And than again that night it chewed through wood for our outdoor fire. I think I'm over the whole babying the knife phase... but man, was that waiting game crazy! I even contemplated getting it in pink. Cause why the hell would I care if its pink, if it still does it job. In fact...I am contemplating getting in pink. I need pink... I told my Mrs' I am supporting a cause. Cause its pink... O:)

RYP: I second that as well, buy both! Be happy :) lol. I thought I'd be happy with Rc3 and Izzie, even thinking ok, I guess I don't really "need" the 5 or 6 right now... after seeing the hest, a few more times, and than thinking some more, the 5 and 6 "could" be needed later ;) :P right? And the hest could as well, be quite handy. This thread now sparks me to thought...I don't think I can just have only two :(

Camp: :( thats what I was thinking. Which first, now my thoughts trail to, which one next?

Aceman: first thing I'm ganna do is tie to a stick and run around like a wildman, calmly cook some bbq, than act out some more until someone shoots me with the hose or something next weekend. If I get the hest this week and it arrives before sat :(
