That looks like a great set-up. I use that NRGS kit alot, in fact I feel kind of naked in the bush without it. It is handy having it all right there all the time.

Blind Horse Knives recently donated five of their Tiger Knapp neck knives to my wilderness ministry and I'm in the process of setting four of them up as neck knife PSK's. I gave one to a good friend here.

I'm glad you found the concept useful, it really has worked well for me.

what did you do to get the black finish on the TK? is that paint, guncote, cold blue or something else?

this particular nrgs is not mine. but i received one in the post today. it also has a black "coating" on it. not sure as newt livesays site mentions no coating...seems very esee-like but a bit cruder.

oh... i thought that was a BHK Tiger Knap with the handle wrapped.

the TK is bare, but with heat treat scale in the "stripes" that it looks like they grind in when making the blade.

That is the Livesay NRGS and they were parkerized like was done with guns. The Tiger Knapp is unfinished but from the one I gave to my friend they really develop a nice patina with use.
